Mar. 29th, 2004 07:42 pmThe parents are back. As Megan would put it, this is teh sux, but such is life. They have lots of stories about various bits of countryside and Dad was the best at describing it:
"Well, the mountains were like the the Misty Mountains, with clouds scurrying around them. Oh, and there was this BRILLIANT marsh, I spent the whole thing hissing 'Don't follow the lights!' whilst your mum looked on in confusion."
Dad is a super-cool fanboy at heart. He was reading Daredevil as a teenger, hardcore SF by twenties (I know this as he still has them all and I'm reading then now) and, well, anyone who'll argue with you over the merits of Treebeard against Legolas and Why Galadriel Is A Stuck Up Cow at age 12 could be no one but my father.
Anyway.
I've decided to leave doingeverything my history until tomorrow, since have morning off. It's irresponsible, but I have to have the odd moment to myself. Tonight, I'm watching Terry Jones' Medieval Lives (yay!) and then I'm going to go and feel like a Bad Person for watching The Taming Of The Shrew. Now, I'm watching it for a noble reason. This is to learn RADA. It is doing me good in understanding her character. The thing is, I feel really pervy. I never, ever realised how utterly beautiful Elizabeth Taylor is. She looks like Monica Belluci. Who I fancy the arse off. And I'm watching The Taming Of The Shrew and feeling really pervy, because I really fancy Katharina. Who is my character. And then it gets twisted.
Bleurgh.
I have nothing else to say. I was sure I did, but it seems to have flown out of my mind. Toodles and all that...
