Sometimes, it's scary to be me.

Just look at this.

I mean... god. Just GOD.

I always fancied living in America. On second thoughts, I'll wave at you all from behind the Canada line.

Really, though, I'm shocked that this kind of thing is even possible. It's abhorrent. What kind of world is it that we live in? I sincerely hope Britain doesn't start imitating America in this respect too.

It's sickening.

Thanks for the link. I left a reply there (even though I am a complete stranger to that person... they'll probably wonder what the hell a spacellama is). This sort of thing hurts. Literally.

It's a horrific piece of legislation, no doubt about that, but not quite that bad. Of course, it's perfectly bad enough as it is.

That's somewhat comforting. I had the feeling that a random piece of legislation couldn't trump things that are legally binding, like wills and legal adoptions. But durn if this isn't the first step down that road.

Indeed. Smacks of positive not-in-my-backyard-ism. Of course, as long as Bush is lying in state or whatever it is he does, then we're all going to hell in a handbasket. The one comfort is that in Britain, while we may not have made many steps foward, we're not taking steps back.

Oh dear. I can so see a mass diasphora.
I am afraid now, truly. It seems we are now stepping backwards in evolution. We are once again becoming more bent in revenge, rage, intolerance, and generally assuming our own point of view is correct by default.
yuck.
There must be a way to undo this. Is there a possibility to disable this edit by a petition of the people of that state? You know, people signing down saying they don't want that piece of shit.

From what I can decipher of American law, it's impossible to undo from the perspective of the people involved... but if someone more tolerant is voted in next election, there's a good chance the law could be overturned. And if someone takes the law to court, they can claim it goes against the constituion, which is the highest authority in America.

I think.

Either way, it's absolutely terrible and unthinkable that this kind of law can exist in a supposedly forward-thinking and progressive society.

WHAT?!! *outraged* Canda seems a safer bet. (well.when Mr.Bush is afoot anyhow.) I can't believe it. I really can't believe it. Surely it's a breach of human rights?

It can't be legal - it's like a legalised witch-hunt and I thought we were long over those.
raaaaaaaaa!!
