English exam was dreadful. DREADFUL. However, I think I may have scraped a passing mark, which is what counts, frankly.

Will tell you more on 19th August. As [livejournal.com profile] amchau saidm I won't know until then, will I?

But I sincerely hope that all the other English bods did well... there's far too many of you to list.

Worst part was that it finished far too late to get the gbus home, so I got a lift home. Whilst waiting for El Father in the sun, with a copy of The Subtle Knife and my CD player was relaxing and enjoyable, I'm too lazy to get my arse into Ormskirk and actually buy ROTK.

So I am now at home, film-less. I shall go and watch Angel and pretend to myself that it isn't going to end. I understand that Andrew is in tonight's episode. Yay!

I am now going to buggar off and do something useful, like read The Amber Spyglass. My, I love those books. They're so wonderful!

Off to see Troy tomorrow. Interview With The Vampire possibly coming through the door tomorrow. Also buying Return Of The King. Yay! As long as I remain sensible and remember that I have oodles of revision to do... 2 exams down, 7 to go. Oh, not fun.

Here's to waiting for August. (Did you notice that they'd sneakily reworded the fourth bullet point of the question? I thought that was mean of them.)

There was sneaky rewording? Which question?

I pay not attention. Ever.

In the two extracts exam-- where the question is "the same" every year, and only the extracts change, and there are four bullet points to consider in your answer: the last one of those had, I'm fairly sure, been reworded. Not enough to majorly change what you had to write, but enough to throw me off for a minute or two.

Aha.

See, I didn't actually pay attention to the question, as I had a framework in my head and I was determined to stick with it. As was the rest of my class; there was a quiet chanting of "Right, GLOGS... Grammar, Lexis, Overall structure..." going around the exam room.

I could see why it would throw you off though.

The last question was quite evil. I couldn't think off anything intelligent to write, and I got my burst on inspiration the moment he said "Times up!" Alas.

So it goes, sadly. My framework was based almost entirely around answering the question in the order the prompts gave, but I can see why you might not have noticed.
