hathycolI'd like to apologise to all those I insulted, rambled and ranted at over the football. In context, it is only a game. Opium of the masses, coming from Liverpool, etc, etc. My only mention of Euro 2004 will now be along the lines of "So and so won. Go them." Sorry for clogging up alreayd clogged friends pages; sorry for my obsessive, worrying Englishness.
Still, look at it from this side: maybe it's better we fight this sort of stuff out on the football pitch than on the battlefield?
So... today has been a little sombre, but I really have got over it now, other than joining in jokes about Swiss bankers and whatnot. Politics seemed to go on forever, or more so than usual. Media was just watching the same film again. Yet I was unusually cheerful. Me and Liz went to Orrell and bought Pringles, which always makes a lesson for amusing. On the way home, I brought a second hand video of Dracula 2001 out of impulse (so. bloody. obsessed). To mkae ny night better, I came home to a parcel. Flash Gorden has arrived! Did a little funky dance of joy, because it's Flash! When is it not cool?
Been out at the International Selection Evening. Attempts to make new friends failed, somewhat, as out of seven people, one of them was me, one of them was Lara, two of them were the twins and one of the was Steph. Still, I sparkled merrily at people, tried to be nice and be Part Of A Team. I will find out on Friday whether I made it to the next heat. Ah, the life of a Ranger.
And now I am home, and I have a rather odd - albeit flattering - message on one of my old posts. Not sure if it's genuine. Secretly dare to hope it is, but I'm so instinctually aware of people taking the piss that it's hard for me to trsut stuff like that. Especially when whoever s/he doesn't leave his/her name. Although when I remember the actul post, now I realise why... the point is, could whoever it is either stop taking the piss or leave a name, please?
Oh dear. I could really end up making a fool of myself here, couldn't I?
