Jul. 2nd, 2004 05:35 pmSo, it has been One Of Those Days. I woke up and seriouslyt contemplated staying in bed, but I did eventually drag myself in for the purpose of politics. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is the standard of my life at the moment.
Actually not a bad politics lesson, as they go. The people I normally bounce of have all toddled back, included Amy Dale. I talked to her a lot, actually - her name is not Amy Dale, but there's a long and comnplex story which she only now knows since I told her.
Anyway.
I saw Louise and Susie, crucially, who told me all about their meeting with
loneraven. At break we found Lara, who indignantly protested "You didn't tell me she wanted to do PPE!"
My rather lame comeback was a simple "I forgot you were both doing it!"
Yes. Stupid Colleen. I do, actually, have something of a theory that The Colleen Show is secretly playing out all the time on an unknown TV network, and that everyone I seem to know is interconnected. There's someone from BSU who knows
chesterkoil.
balthasar ended up being in the same classes with two of my best friends.
flickerswitch suddenly turned up in my media class. It's a giant conspiracy.
ESPECIALLY considering that they all seemed to go to Oxford in which most of HP was filmed and LOTR was inspired. I don't half feel... well... working class and somewhat stupid when it dawns on me that the reason I don't have the passing GCSE grades is because I didn't know what a marinade was in a cooking exam.
And that is the nature of the British educational system. *sighs*
All that said, I really do want the four year course in Scotland, because it's an extra year ofdossing around claiming I'm in full time education. I like being educated, nerd that I am. The Dundee prospectus came today. It looks okay, but it won't be high on the list. Not worth the Open Day, anyway. I'm already not popular afte turning around and declaring "Dad? I need a lift. To Aberdeen, possibly?"
Anyway, I'm off to
loneraven's tonight, presuming that she's able to cope with a Resident Lunatic meetup. I hope that most of us will be there, although I know that
shipperkitten is off around Cambridge. Like much of my college, actually.
Damned marinades!
I should go and iron. Still haven't done it...
