Jul. 6th, 2004 03:09 pmYesterday was a weird day. College was desperately dull, as I spent almost all morning trying to finish off That Powerpoint. I did finish it, luckily. Life perked up somewhat at lunchtime. For one reason and another, I eventually turned to Matt and said "Look, shall we go to the chippy?"
So we did. Well, we got part way down to Orrell, and went to the bakery and then met up with a large group of lads. This, inevitably, turned into a trip to the pub. And it's been a long time since I went out with blokes as a big group of mates. Recently, it's all been mixed. And I really did miss male company. You can sit in silence and be perfectly happy, for a start. Whilst in the pub, I didn't drink either. Thank goodness, as I had a lacklustre English lesson to follow which I think if combined with vodka would have finished me off.
Bus home, Important Decisions were made.
jessiewessy appears to be moving in over the week El Parento are away, and secondly, the meet-up and piss-up (MUPU? Eh?) date has been decided. This seems to have flourished into a barbeque (I can get a cheap disposable one; nip into supermarket with Jess whilst the others are in the off-licence; Matt has agreed to be chef) so now I'm starting to worry somewhat. Ah well. That gives me all of two or three days to clean up before the Resident Lunatics descend, and Jess is apparently rather looking forward to a potential meeting of the people I so often witter on about.
I had Rangers last night, and as it's just up the road, I walked there and back. The meeting wasn't much to write home about - just camp based stuff and other joy - but I was in an exceptionally good mood. God knows why. Combined with Something Corporate, this resulted in me literally dancing down the hill, singing along with a passion. Even did a little turn here and there because I was just in a good mood. I must have been fairly loud - someone on a bike was openyl staring - but I didn't care. It was a nice, carefree feeling. I rather liked it.
This morning was less so. I was knackered. Again. Media consisted of watching the end of Pulp Fiction and also Bowling For Columbine, both of which I really enjoyed for their oddness.
And that is it. I came home, and I went to the dentist. Ordinary check-up with my ordinary dentist - won't be going back for another few months, thank god. And now I am home. I have one lesson tomorrow (English, too) and that's it. End of college for the year.
Weirdness.
