Jul. 11th, 2004 07:58 pmWell.
It's been one of those weekends, I think. I was sat there quite happily on MSN at 9.20, vaguely contemplating working on some fic, or perhaps having a cup of tea.
Perkily,
playfullemming pops up. She suggests going to the pub. I leapt upon this idea, opened up about 5 MSN windows, all along the lines of
"Dude! Come to the pub! Right now!"
This caused, understandable, confusion. I had five similiar replies.
"It's late! We're busy... what pub?"
I managed to bribe a few people into coming to the Plough. With twenty minutes to spare, I phoned Jess, and in the space of 45 seconds (I counted) managed to get her to come as well.
Ten minutes later, I had my Tits Dress on (over a pair of jeans, naturally) and Christine turned up. And we went to the pub!
Pleasant night, actually. Crap pub, mind, but it's quiet and whatnot, and more importantly we've practically moved in over recent weeks. That, and they have a pool table. So, we turned up. No orange juice, so braved Coke and vodka. Have I ever mentioned that I despise Coke utterly and enitrely? Sarcastic comment "Oh, just bring it neat next time!"
So, they did. With a double vodka shot. For everyone. I've been spoiled; vodka is very nice cold, or when you're already a little bit numb. The stuff that we had was oily and burnt like poison. Still, that went down. Slighlty more hazily, back to the bar.
"Another round of vodka, please."
"We're out of vodka."
"Erm... *look around and get nod of approval* Tequila?"
"No, we're out of that too."
"Rum?"
"That as well."
"Why is the rum gone!? What do you actually have?"
Gin. Gin.. I nabbed the last two shots of vodka, did not mix my spirits and as such fared the best, I think. After that point, whiskey was involved. *headpalm* I am such a drunken student, frankly enough, with no willpower. I can say no the first time; if I start drinking, then that's it for the evening. We played pool with some mad drunken guy, too. It was at this point we got thrown out, so the logical option was then pizza. Yum! Got followed by a CCTV camera on the way home, which was rather scary in the extreme.
And that ws my night. Went home with Christine, who actually fell asleep before I did and proceeded to talk to me all night. I only worked out she was asleep because she had her eyes closed. I was really pissed off at one point, as I went for a drink of water, she talked at me, I asked her if she wanted some and she roll over and shut up. Felt quite hurt. Now discover she was alseep, and felt much less hurt. *grins*
Dog decided to start barking at 8.10am. Being the good Samaritan that I was, I actually woke up and went and sorted him out. I didn't go back to bed, either. Go me!
Paying for it now, of course; I'm knackered but that's a permanent state of being. Went out today too to see Shrek 2 with
hammer_strike.
Haven't laughed so much for a while. Fabulous film! Plot isn't up to much, but the little things make it wonderful. The random film references, of course. The two 'Farbucks' on opposite sides of the street. The slightly odd bits of humour. "Are you wearing a thong?" Antonio Banderas was fabulous. Hell, I think I wanted to stroke him when he did the cute-eye thing. And besides, he was just cool.
"I am Puss! In boots..."
Loved it. Go and see it. Twice, if possible.
And that was my weekend. Spent the walk home listening to fabby new MP3 player. It turned up and it's gorgeous. It's blue! Had some initial problems along the lines of "It's been translated by someone who understands neither English or Japanese!" but I got the gist of it rather quickly, and now I can listen to fabby music and not have to worry about it skipping, or not fitting into my bag, or changing CD. I don't like the headphones, however. My ears, for reasons best known to themselves, are not designed for the litle bud headphones, and they end up falling out. So, I've gone back to my headphones that go all the way over my head. I may get some better ones when I can afford them (clippy ones, so the best of both worlds) but for now I have my comfy headphones and an MP3 player. The radio uses different headphones (it's a weird clippy thing) but there we are.
And now I am going to go and write fic and go to bed. I'm going to KGV tomorrow tolaugh and point watch their Sports Day.
