hathycolI've been running around like the proverbial headless chicken ever since I woke up. This is in-between swearing pretty consistently and avoiding El Sister because she finished school for the summer today.
*facepalm*
Yes, I decided that the logical time to find everything for camp would be the day that I'm going. As such, the bag is packed with everything such as clothes/torch/toiletries and whatnot. Feel spurred on by my success, I quite easily found my very pretty plate bag (it's covered in badges and is, may I say, a work of art) and even all the old camp foody stuff.
"Yes!" I thought triumphantly as I re-applied the nail varnish to write my name on the back. "I knew this would be fine!"
So, I went out to get my cousin Chloe's christening present (I'm missing it; am at camp. Praise the lord! Can't be done with that branch of the family) and the money I need to pay of various Ranger-y debts. Feeling successful, I ventured back home, packed the now dry plates and whatnot, and toddled to try and get the sleeping stuff.
I should have known it was too good to last, really.
First, the sleeping bag (my sleeping bag; accompanied me on 5 camps, is the size of the pencil, warm enough for the Antertic and generally a bit of a friend) was found lurking behind the washing basket after a 20 minute search. The rolly-mat-whatsit consisted of me clearing out all of El Parento's cupboard (where all this kind of stuff is kept) and finding it on the top shelf in a small bag. Still can't find my groundsheet. Alas! I'm going to wait for Dad to get home, and pray that he knows where it is.
In the meanwhile, I have to find a way to lug all of this (and Lara too!) down the road to Scarisbrick, sort out the pegs and learn knots.
Oh dear.
So, that's me gone for the weekend. I shall see you all on Sunday; fingers crossed I'll be back in time to go to training.
