Jul. 20th, 2004 09:33 pmOoooh, but I enjoyed
Now, it must be admitted that Spider-Man is not top of my fandoms. In fact, it’s not even there; I quite enjoyed the first film, loved the cartoons when I was small, but that was the end of it. Never quite affected me as much as X-Men. Basically, I can go little bit fangirly over bits and bobs of it, but really, it’s not too important.
Well, that just changed.
It was good. I really, really enjoyed it, and merrily squee-d my way through it. I mean… Doc Ock! Hell, I used to quite like that guy in the cartoons! And he was… him! It must be admitted that I spent a fairly large proportion of last summer watching the cartoons, so I suppose it was fresher in my mind than I thought. But OMG SQUEE! Doctor Connors! Doctor Connors! The Green Goblin! Okay, I saw that one coming when I saw the trailer, but was I happy or what? I think it was MJ’s last words, though: “Go get him, Tiger.” ARGH! Tiger! She would always call him that in the cartoons! *bounces*
I enjoyed this film muchly. I want that to be known.
Right. The Resident Lunatics know what I’m talking about in the next bit. Everyone else can skip, or read and be mildly bored.
I was vaguely planning on having the Blue Moon Party next Thursday. Any earlier and I’ll be drunk/hungover. Any later an I’ll be at work/cleaning/parents will be home, at which point there will not be enough space. Iona, however, will not in fact be around at that time.
So, I’m having a quick mental reshuffle. What are we all doing on Saturday night? Comment or forever hold your peace; that’s the only suitable day, I’m afraid. So, comment and say you can make it on Saturday night, please! Don’t worry about getting to Ormskirk, as long as you can get to Liverpool I can give directions, and I will meet one and all train/bus station. Any other problems, e-mail, and I will apply my massively bored brain to the situation.
So… that is all.
