Jul. 20th, 2004 09:33 pmOoooh, but I enjoyed
Now, it must be admitted that Spider-Man is not top of my fandoms. In fact, it’s not even there; I quite enjoyed the first film, loved the cartoons when I was small, but that was the end of it. Never quite affected me as much as X-Men. Basically, I can go little bit fangirly over bits and bobs of it, but really, it’s not too important.
Well, that just changed.
It was good. I really, really enjoyed it, and merrily squee-d my way through it. I mean… Doc Ock! Hell, I used to quite like that guy in the cartoons! And he was… him! It must be admitted that I spent a fairly large proportion of last summer watching the cartoons, so I suppose it was fresher in my mind than I thought. But OMG SQUEE! Doctor Connors! Doctor Connors! The Green Goblin! Okay, I saw that one coming when I saw the trailer, but was I happy or what? I think it was MJ’s last words, though: “Go get him, Tiger.” ARGH! Tiger! She would always call him that in the cartoons! *bounces*
I enjoyed this film muchly. I want that to be known.
Right. The Resident Lunatics know what I’m talking about in the next bit. Everyone else can skip, or read and be mildly bored.
I was vaguely planning on having the Blue Moon Party next Thursday. Any earlier and I’ll be drunk/hungover. Any later an I’ll be at work/cleaning/parents will be home, at which point there will not be enough space. Iona, however, will not in fact be around at that time.
So, I’m having a quick mental reshuffle. What are we all doing on Saturday night? Comment or forever hold your peace; that’s the only suitable day, I’m afraid. So, comment and say you can make it on Saturday night, please! Don’t worry about getting to Ormskirk, as long as you can get to Liverpool I can give directions, and I will meet one and all train/bus station. Any other problems, e-mail, and I will apply my massively bored brain to the situation.
So… that is all.

Date: 2004-07-20 01:38 pm (UTC)Those at Becca's birthday party will remember some strawberry stuff I had from Spain. No strawberry stuff this year, it's apple stuff instead, but same idea.
It's quite strong, any chance of some lemonade to go with it? Because we all want to see you drunk, but save some for everyone else!
Any times, or things we need to bring? Sleeping bag? Actually, I still have Clare's, so should probably bring that anyway...
Can't wait, toodles!

Date: 2004-07-20 01:43 pm (UTC)Drinking? *holds head in hands* Ah, why the hell not. Just suppress my inner Pervy Lesbian because I'll try it on with anyone given enough vodka. Why does everyone want to see my legless, anyway?
I don't think I'll need extra bedding. *mentally counts* We'll have to sleep in the living room due to lack of space, like, everywhere in my house, but I have... *counts* three sleeping bags, three or four spare quilts, and I can drag them off beds if need be, since no one else is using them.
And yay! Rocky Horror! You're all watching Flash Gordon, though - Enid's request, but frankly, you'd all be watching it anyway.

Date: 2004-07-20 01:47 pm (UTC)This all sounds very exciting. Flash Gordon sounds... weird and interesting. Alcohol all round. Lots of bedding will make it warm and fun to snatch off people in the middle of the night.
Did you know Iona plans to bring the little 'uns? Can you imagine what corrupted monsters they will be when their parents finally get them back? Such a learning curve...
Can. Not. Wait. Now.

Date: 2004-07-20 02:02 pm (UTC)Anything I can bring? Alcohol? Once More With Feeling (I've got Clare's tapes)? Anything else that will justify being lugged to Ormskirk and used in defiling innocence?
Peace and love to all.

Go to Sandhills and change there. To the best of my knowledge, there's no other direct route, as the bus goes a different way.
Basically, get to Sandhills, get off, jump on a new train for Ormskirk. Will meet you there at... let's say... 5.30? That goes for everyone else, if you're reading!
Alcohol is welcomed for corruptable purposes, but I'm taking no responsibility for it
and my actions. And... Velvet Goldmine just for the hell of it?no subject
