Baby otters and radioactive poodles

OMG THE KUTE!
Well, it is. I think I’m getting addicted to my friendsfriends page. It finds me baby otters!
I sat and watched a thing about I, Robot before. Why do I do this to myself? It looks like it might be a good film; it really, genuinely does. I’m not denying that. And then I saw that… that… gimp Will Smith answering questions on the film and it was just… guh! At least for LOTR they talked about the book! I’m sorry, does talking about a book make you not COOL Mr Smith? Rowr. Why make “Del Spooner” the hero?
… I can’t believe I’m getting so utterly worked up about this film. I think I want my Dad. Me and him can sit and talk about this for hours and he’s also possibly the only person on the planet with whom I can discuss Will Smith, radioactive poodles and Why Treebeard Is Really Cool. That, and the bastard’s run off to Sherwood Forest with my copy of Night Watch. By psychic Cheekie (intentional typo!) Cheetham Sense, he has taken away on holiday the only book I quite fancied splurging out with and re-reading, and because I’m in that sort of mood I’m now sulking and refusing to read anything.
Eh. Rambling. Have done all of the cleaning now, and since I’m feeling thoroughly domesticated I am going to sew because my trousers are beginning to rip. I think I need to buy some new ones, but I’m so fussy with jeans. I life flares. No one makes them anymore for an affordable price! As such, out with the cotton.

Date: 2004-07-29 02:21 pm (UTC)Also, I finished reading 'I, Robot' this morning, and really liked it. However, I am curious as to what the film (from the adverts I've seen) has in common with the story in the book! It looks nothing like!
I'm not fond of Will Smith either. What character is he supposed to be? *fumes* I doubt I'll be seeing that film, but any light you can shed on the story line will help.
Didn't you think the robots were rather cute? I wanted a Robbie! Or a Speedie!

Date: 2004-08-01 08:15 am (UTC)WHY NOT JUST DIG UP ASIMOV AND PUT HIM ON A POLE, EH?
Sorry. The word robotics was coined by Asimov, and I don't know, there's just something I find distasteful about them a. killing Alfred Lanning b. taking away everything that made Susan interesting and c. RUINING THE BOOK!
Sorry. I think I'm getting obsessive over this.
