I HAVE: no money.
I HATE: ignorance.
I MISS: Liz and Sidg.
I FEAR: not being myself.
I HEAR: Rock FM. Alas!
I SEARCH: for the whys and wherefores.

I LOVE: living.

I DANCE: no longer.

I CRY: distressingly often since I'm a big girl.
I AM NOT ALWAYS: what I appear to be.

I WIN: at petty games.
I LOSE: at big games.
I CONFUSE: most people who have met me and some who haven't.
I NEED: a lot.
I SHOULD: go and make a cup of tea.

After my nagging, there have been write-ups. This makes me happy.

Last night, I did in fact go to bed, like a good bunny. I then sat up for hours finishing Lirael and reading Abhorsen. I need to get copies of these books because they're so... complex. I can't keep the names of the bells straight in my head and my habit of scanning books means I keep on thinking "Eh? What just happened?" On the other hand, I am very glad that it was - mostly - resolved towards the end. I love Mogget and The Disreputable Dog.

There, I don't think that's too spoilery for [livejournal.com profile] _sparkler and [livejournal.com profile] loneraven who are both reading those books...

Not done anything today and feel oddly annoyed about that, though. Basically, I woke up, went to the opticians, got my glasses fixed, came home, went out again to see Andrew, came home, made tea badly, got annoyed at sisters general lack of doing anything. And now I am here and I seem to have nothing to say.

I have updated my info page, as it was getting to the length of an essay and because I was quite amused by the result in a quiz. Hee!

It is still far too hot. Dude, I live in England, not a bloody rainforest...

I have posted a piccie at Open Scrolls. I look like a startled rabbit in it, but it's the only photo of me I quite like. I hope everyone else posts, though; I find it amusing that my mental image of most people seems to be accurate. Even if Aerin unexpectedly had blonde hair and BB turned out to be... quite scarily attractive and more so than I expected!

In other news, the Vampire Fixation continues apace. It should, however, be noted that only two vampires in the BTVS fandom do it for me: Vampire!Willow and Dracula. In conclusion, it can be said that only pretty and slightly effeminate vampires do it for me. This is much like my Elf Fetish, I think.

Rambling now.

I liked the essay too. But I get bored when stuff is too long. No doubt I will change the current lineup when I get bored again...

This is odd: of Dracula and Vampire!Willow, the former does nothing for me, while the latter I can, err, appreciate. However, Spike... how can you not love Spike? Spike does it for me. And sometimes, so does Drusilla, which is a deeply scary thought. Angel doesn't, though. I am lacking the whatever-it-is that attracts otherwise rational people to dark-and-brooding types.

I really, really do not understand my vampire fixation. I truly and utterly wish I did. Vampire!Willow does it for me because it's Willow and she's wearing leather, not because of the "Wheee! Immortality!" thing.

Actually, now I come to think about it, most vampires don't. Anne Rice vampires have their moments, but... well, Armand has his moments to be more precise. Possibly because in Interview With The Vampire he's deliciously decadant and has the whole Dark!Vampire!Bitey!Thing going on. I do, in fact, fancy Dracula. In most, if not all, of the incarnations I've seen/read about. Harrumph. I do not understand this, and I blame Richard Roxburgh for seducing everything that moves on screen. It's an odd fixation, though.

I also do not fancy Angel OR Spike. Don't ask me to explain this; I think everyone fancies one or the other, right? Oh well.

And yes, fancying Drusilla is a deeply scary thought. *coughs and looks away*

I've never read Anne Rice, I confess. I've heard such mixed reviews, and she seems to have such a bad attitute to ficcers, that I've never bothered.

I don't think Dracula's ever done it for me. I'm not sure I've seen Richard Roxburgh, though, so this may just be something waiting to happen.

I think every straight woman, and some lesbians, fancies either Spike or Angel, and some people seem to manage both. Just about every fan finds *someone* to fancy on BtVS, and many find more than one.

I've never been sure whether my attraction to Drusilla was really me, or if it was yet another place where I was over-identifying with Spike. Such things have been known. But she is pretty, even if her accent's as wide a wanderer as the well-known Rolling English Drunkard she's apparently stolen it from.

Anne Rice I only read after seeing the film and being rather impressed. She does write a very good screenplay, and the books aren't bad, or the first three aren't.

Dracula really was a surprise. Although on [livejournal.com profile] van_dracula you can find a few surpirsed posts of "I fancy Dracula! Odd, since I'ma lesbian..."

Vampires. What odd pheromones they make.

I think the reviews I've read are mostly people on went on reading after the third book, and were a bit... ugh... about it all.

A Dracula lj-comm. I... could have guessed. I'm most amused by the "Vlad the Impaler is Love" banner.

And yes, indeed, it must be those odd pheromones. (Though now I'm wondering if vampires technically make their own pheromones, or just send out the pheromones in the blood they drink. Because if a vampire drank a lot of female blood, then he could be sending out female pheromones, and thus attract lesbians. Um. Did I really just type that?)
