hathycolI'm sunburnt. Considering that I've spent all day in the field, it's not too surprising.
Woke up this morning nice and early, so that I could potter around in my own time and put my contacts in. I did so with somewhat more ease. Which is a nice change.
Simon turned up at 10.30, and parents were good enough to give us a lift. It wasn't until we got there that we realised we were supposed to start at 12.00. Get me and my early morning self!
Training was good, though. We had an audience of your traditional 12 year old scallies, and I had to throw in my whole Guiding side to bellow "CAN YOU PUT THE SWORD DOWN PLEASE" at them.
Fun.
Dan also brought along the now official mascot/squire who is a scary example of a ten year old. We are, apparently, doing a display soon. I just hope it's not when I'm at work/Aberdeen. We shall see. It sounds like fun, anyway. I've also been changed to a Celt, which works for me as I am pale, red-haired and know buggar all about Saxons anyway. I have been prepped on the background. This all sounds groovy to me.
And now I am home. Had a very embarrassing incident on the bus - I fell off the seat. This is what happens when I try to be polite and not sit too near the scared looking olkd lady because I am wearing scary clothes, covered in cuts and bruises and probably smell.
Training again tomorrow. Ha. Obsessive, me? Liz is coming over on Tuesday (and she will finally meet Simon! Egads!), Wednesday Liz will also partially be here and on Thursday several things will be happening. None of which I care to discuss now. I will not worry I will not worry I will not worry. I know that it will all go okay. Well, probably.
Yes. Will think happy thoughts. Except now I have to go and sort out my jeans as I have ripped them. Oops.
And Enid has made The Colleen Show icons. I'm a fandom, people! Rah! (That, and this is a kickarse icon. Hee!)
