Clare/Colleen=OTP. Minority ship indeed.
Aug. 27th, 2004 08:56 pmI have been sitting and staring at my keyboard for about fifteen minutes. God, I'm so bad at this.
I'll take the day chronologically and then do something approaching An Announcement. Um, yay me.
Woke up nice and early (well, 10.00) after sleeping like the dead all night. Ah, it was nice. Up I arose and off I trundled to Liverpool to meet the Resident Lunatics. We stood around in Central for a few moments, lamenting the sad loss of Emily (kidnapped by work and a hairdresser) and Iona (kidnapped by Rice-Oxley) and then we trundled to Waterstones. Sat down in Costa, and I said "Erm" in a significant way.
Then I said it again, and added "Clare and I have something to say. Erm."
Enid, bless her little cotton socks, jumped in and saved the day. "You two are going out."
There was nodding from us, and then there was shrieking from Hannah.
For all of those who don't have benefit of knowing me face to face and all myalcohol fuelled ways, I should explain this. For the last few weeks, Clare and I have been dancing around each other looking nervous after an... incident at the Blue Moon Party, and we can only talk properly when pissed, or so it seemed. Hence the fact that the real phone call was from Cornwall after much wine. (On her part, not mine.) I tried to be subtle in LJ:
Except for when we went to find the bus times, which I ended up missing as I was nattering to osiris13 for a long time, which was enlightening in how far Cornwall is, for a start.
For once, I may have actually succeeded in this subtley lark.
Anyway. We met up on GCSE day and made things... official. And also decided that nothing would be said until we saw the Residents face to face, because it's only fair. So there has been quiet squeeing, and we went out when I came home from Aberdeen and I ended up sleeping at her house after we went to see The Village. (Which scared the shit out of me, by the way.) Which was nice. This is why there was a large gap in my LJ. Apologies.
So, that is why I was Organisational Bitch (more so) for this Friday, as I have been biting my knuckles, desperate to say something on LJ. But we waited. It must be admitted that my mother knows:
Me: Mum! I'm going out as soon as I get in from Aberdeen!
Mum: Why? Who with?
Me: *tries to think of lie*
Mum: Are you seeing a girl?
Me: *wibbles ala Vole In The Headlight*
Mum: Well? Who?
Me: Ah.... um...
Mum: It's that Clare, isn't it? I thought it was odd you came home early and sober.
So, there we are. Clare/Colleen=OTP.
Hannah wibbled a bit because she was informed that she wasn't allowed to talk about it ("No, not even Mrs Greenwood!") and then she proceeded to text
loneraven. Who phoned back in all of two minutes and gave a very slight ear-bashing ("Why didn't you say something EARLIER!") and then was all sweet. Everyone is Nice and somewhat oblivious and it makes me happy. Love my friendses. We actually thought they'd all guessed; Emily, it turns out, had cracked under questioning and told them that we were together on results day. "We thought you were getting closure!"
Oh, bless.
Anyway, the rest of the day was fun. I found my recommended driving theroy book and practically choked when I saw the price ("Can't I download it on the internet?") but I bought it anyway. And then we went to Chevasse and played on the Dodgems, which was much more fun than it was, although I'm ashamed to admit that I actually attempted to practise my steering on it. Then Enid decided that it would be a good time to take photos for The Colleen Show. I am proud to say we may have slightly scared Hannah. Hopefully Iona will change the page, when she is awake again.
And that was my day. And announcement. And at the risk of sounding something like a 14 year old male, I am terribly glad that I can now actually use the phrase "my girlfriend" in my LJ.
Hurrah for Resident Lunacy!

Date: 2004-08-28 11:01 am (UTC)Anyway, what I meant by that statement was that I though you met up on A-Level results day to sort things out, not GCSE day.
Happy for you!
Date: 2004-08-27 03:54 pm (UTC)Now, tell me why you are learning how to drive from a book???" Steering, Less is more,(unless there is no power steering, then "More is Better" applies)
Re: Happy for you!
