Sep. 9th, 2004 01:25 pmOkay. I know that you've all been waiting for my reaction to this, which might explain a barrage of text messages last night, all of which were in a faintly amused tone. Amanda Tapping is not going to C6. I'm quite gutted.
This is a lie.
I am currently ecstatic and bouncing around. Miranda Otto is going to Collectormania. We all know my feelings over this woman. I have a cardboard cut-out of her. (Imaginatively named "Miranda".) I have icons. I declared that I wanted to have her children. Etc. Etc.
As Iona so aptly put it, "I smell a restraining order."
Seriously, though, I will be a Good Fangirl. I will not mention the cardboard cut-out. I will not attempt to hug her. Except possibily for a photo. I will smile, I will be coherant, and I will be a Nice Person. I will not grope, drool or otherwise molest. Clare has threatened to beat me around the head with a frying pan if I do. Understandable.
Unfortunately, though, Emily is now not going, which makes me very sad. It's understandable, I suppose. If her and Hannah don't go, we'll be paying £45 for hotels, less if Hannah comes. Hannah, please make up your mind! I'm not going to cancel the rooms, though, on the basis that it means we have spare room if a SG guest turns up, etc.
Argh squee Miranda. Sorry.
Anyway. Let's be calm. Yesterday, I went to history, as mentiond. I'm going to enjoy this year, which is predictable. We've been moved into the actual 17th Century History classroom, which is great. It's teeny, meaning that we all don't fit properly, but I don't care. It's smaller and more historical, with pretty posters and portraits. Great stuff. Pervy Dave started of with style: "As you can tell, we've moved rooms. The first thing you'll have to learn is to take your clothes off..."
Hurrah. Less hurrah is the two chapters of history I have to read for tomorrow. I don't mind, but the brain isn't working too brilliantly at the moment. Argle.
English next. No one I know is in my class, which makes me very sad. Fran is the teacher though, that makes me more happy. She went around and declared about re-sits. I am one of three not re-sitting because I don't actually need to. I wasn't going to anyway (it's English...) so that's really rather nice.
Politics is... oh dear. The shit is going to hit the fan. That's all I have to say about that. On the bright side, The Essay Of Doom, is turns out, isn't in until the 17th. Hurrah!
Went out last night, which was fun, especially the now requistite scally-baiting. I'm very tired this morning, though. Need to stop having late nights. More importantly, Moerseyrail needs to stop cancelling trains. I think it was cancelled, anyway. All I heard was "Merseyrail meebleweeble fuzzywuzzy Walton SQUEARK rotunga line squiddleyped cancelled." Eh? The train turned up at 11.45, in the end. I was not the most popular person in the household last night.
Anyway. I should go and do my reading/writing/housework.
