Oct. 11th, 2004 09:14 amSo, after my intellectual evening of X-Factor, I went to bed. I have come to the conclusion I sleep far too much, but there we are.
Woke up at about 10.30 to text Enid about training, generally expecting that I'd have to be there for what, 12.00? OH no, turned out I had to be there for 11. Panicked but actually made it for about 11.15, which is admirable. I did not, however have time to put my contact lenses in. Shame. Not.
So, off I trundled to training. Again, warband of two but I actually did some leadership. I'm still crap, but hell, we won whilst in the woods so it's all good. In preparation for the show we've got something approaching a backstory between me and Rob now; yay! I'm not very good tactically, but I am very good at shouting a lot. I also rather like using a spear with a shield; I didn't at first but now it's kinda fun having the major advantage. We spent hours in the Pads, training up the oodles of newbies (all of whom are called Adam, it seems) and generally having a good training session. However, managed to get thwacked by a rather impressive Julia to the nose, in which I panicked about my piercing. Then in the huge practice type thing I got a spear to the face from Claire, which hurt quite a lot and now I have a somewhat painful bruise on my cheek. The third time was right between the eyes and I'm not sure who it was from, but I basically just bellowed "FOR FUCK'S SAKE!" and rambled off the battlefield. Ouchouchouch. Hurt like crap and I swore a lot in between attempting not to be girly and cry. As I was due to leave in about 15 minutes away I made my apologies and left in search of painkillers becuase my head hurt more than it should have done. On the birght side, the paracetamol made the pain go away. I'm just glad I took my glasses off beforehand...
So, yes. Training was fun, apart from the lack of
hammer_strike, the scaryness of Darryl and
helonlegs and the fact I know have a fairly embarrassing set of bruises on my face. Really rather painful between the eyes to the extent that my facial features are slightly... slow today.
With this attractive viewpoint in mind, off I went to meet Clare afterwards in Liverpool. It was freezing but I actually made it home by nine. Le gasp!
So, this morning was Monday and I have to leave the house by 7.50. Megan was in the shower this morning, which is fine, but she didn't get out until 7.30. I swore quite violently at her, and I'm still amazed I actually made it to the bus-stop on time.
I need to go shopping tonight, but I can't. Have a driving lesson. Em, you know for Saturday? Well, is it a sort of smart-casual do or a smart-smart type of thing? Don't want to look too out of place...
That is all. I am at college and I need to do my homework. As always.

Date: 2004-10-12 10:55 am (UTC)Ooooh did you hear? Amanda Tapping is pregnant, which is why she has had to cancel all her conventions visits (she has had two miscarriages in the last 14 months and doesn't want to take any chances). This makes season 9 look less probable, which is probably a good thing (SG1 will end up like the X-files otherwise...) Yey for her though! :)

Date: 2004-10-14 05:57 am (UTC)Erm... I take it we're sleeping at your house that night? And by the same logic, I bring along clothesy type things so I don't have to tramp home in my heels, right?
I really want to do this right.
And yay for Amanda Tapping!

Date: 2004-10-14 01:59 pm (UTC)Yes, you're all staying! Aiming to get everyone to arrive here for 7.30 so we can walk to the restaurant for 8 (will take 15-20 minutes, one car will be driven to the restaurant by mum to take Michelle and anyone else who wants to go by car).
You're welcome to stay at mine any time, silly! :P
