"Life is a mystery..."
Nov. 10th, 2004 05:49 pmBlah blah blah.
Decided that my general weirdness and emotionalness was due to a lack of motivation, so I tried to make myself Be Active and Make A Difference. Unfortunately, my first lesson was English and why can't she just TEACH us? All she does is bloody well ramble on with 'life lessons' and I don't know how that fits into Child Language Acquisition, and every time I make a statement about where I want to go, she twists it out of context. For example, she asked how many of us wanted to be housewives. I shrugged, and for the first and last time, quoted Edwina Currie.
"With all this education, do you think I want to scrub floors?"
She twisted it out of context. "So you think housewives are failures?"
"No! It would be if I was a housewife, but..."
Argh. Feeling thoroughly pissed off, I decided to carry on Being Active and actually got some training stuff sorted. Went to see Anne Grist and she was lovely - not only will she advertise for us and give us storage space, she gave us permission to do a small demonstration. "But not this Friday," she said quickly. "I'm not in and I want to watch."
Despite the added tension, it was a big boost - I feel like I've got something done, especially as I'm going to Dan's tonight to pick up the equipment and take it in tomorrow.
Media was cancelled. Byebye motivation. Went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 at lunchtime. Hmm. I liked Bowling For Columbine better, although what Moore has to say is interesting, but one-sided. Anyway. Went to politics, which was much more entertaining. Elaine was off on one again, and I had a fairly entertaining conversation with Politics!Simon (not to be confused with Boypet!Simon) about his boyshape ("Big Dave") making him tidy up his room. *pets Politics!Simon fondly*
But yes. I am at home now. Starbug passed the MOT. *thanks lucky stars* Em's boyshape needs hitting with a shovel, by the way. Everyone seems upset and down. And it's a shame.
And
loneraven, have you been officially sorted yet? Is there any tiny chance that you've ended up in Hufflepuff?

Date: 2004-11-10 11:28 am (UTC)Hufflepuff? Heh. My soaring ambition is at odds with my phobia of snakes, so it's currently split between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. No official sorting yet.
