The wishlist meme:

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

The actual wishlist?

1. Backissues of "History Today". If you have any, just on the off chance, it would help for general interview stuff.

2. Battlestar Galactica fic. Preferably including Gaius or Starbuck, but I'm really not fussy.

3. Spanish language films. Obviously not first hand, but if anyone has copies of Spanish language films knocking around then I'd love a copy if possible. Especially "All About My Mother".

4. I'd give my left arm for some plain silver studs for my ears or my nose.

5. A copy of the Franz Ferdinand album.

6. Much as I appreciate this won't actually happen... a sword. The re-enactment Viking sword. Should anyone have a spare £65...

7. Copies of the Vampire Chronicles. What can I say? I'm morbidly curious.

8. Some jeans. Size 12 English size (or 32" waist), the smaller the leg length the better (around 30") in any colour. Flared for preference, but I'm so desperate for jeans that it's not funny. If you happen to have an old pair that don't fit, or you're bored of them...

9. To have a belated Resident Lunatic Christmas.

10. Something that's just for me, that screams "Colleen!" or indeed "Hathor!"

Snail mail stuff is here if you feel generous. I'm going through my friendslist right now to find all your wishlists.

I need a hug. District Meeting last night revealed that I am organising Thinking Day with... Thersa Mawtus. Maria's sister. Despite having not spoken to Maria for nigh on three years, she and her family regard me as a "whore with a hook through her nose". Well, charming. To be frank, they regard me as a Satanist nun on the way to collect the sacrifical goat. Oh, god.

And now I am at college. English next. Bah. (But pretty icon. House pride!)

On the Spanish film front, last Xmas I managed to pick up a really cheap triple pack, including "Todo Sobre Mi Madra" (you gotta get with the lingo, hun), from WHSmith as part of their gift ideas thing. You might be able to get it again this year? I'll keep an eye out if I see anything in the shops,
