Firstly: a very happity birthday to the wonderful
mettanna! Someone who I met through reading that wonderfully whumping Mellon Chronicles series, it turned out she lived shockingly close to me, and oh, her best friend was going to the same college as I was. Then it turned out we'd managed to sit together in media entirely accidentally. Gyah. However, that is only part of why Sidg Is Wonderful. She has sheepses, she is a lovely and caring person, she won't drink except when she steals my lovely blue... stuff... and all in all I am very glad we happened to be part of the same yahoo group.
Right. Today has bee a good day, and I am online for one reason alone. I had today off - Lower VI El Parento Evening And Day (bollocks, mines TOMORROW, surely at this age parents don't require informing of our progress still?) so I've had a glorious morning lying in until 12.00. I woke up, looked blearily at the clock and staggered out to go and make a cup of tea, reasoning that the day was along one AND ALL FOR ME ME ME. Sorry. I haven't had a day like that for a long time. Anyway, I toddled downstairs and checked the post. There was a very big, very heavy letter. I did a double take. It was for me and it was from Glasgow.
I panicked and stared at it for 0.3 seconds (everything went in double time) before tearing it open in the manner of a starving dog and just staring at it. Lots of stuff came tumbling out, along the lines of "Visiting Day!" and "Information for offers!" Blah, I thought. Another "We've recieved your application, etc, etc" letter.
Ah, but no. "We are very pleased to recieve your application for admission to the Faculty of Arts and have made you an offer of admission to the Faculty through UCAS."
I ran around in a circle for a few seconds before running upstairs and grabbing my UCAS letter and turning on the computer back down here. God, this thing is slow! However, I managed to get it open and discovered that I have an offer for BBB to study history at Glasgow, starting in December.
I nearly cried with relief. This means that, despite not really wanting to go there, I can go to university! At least one place wants me, and hot damn, it was quick replying!
I phoned mum. She shrieked down the phone at me.
And that is all I have done all day thus far. I suppose I should go and get dressed and stuff now. I've been too busy hopping around because oh my sweet god SOMEWHERE WANTS ME!
To all you with the EE: I don't have it yet. I won't until Christmas, as funds are sadly depleted so it's on the Christmas list. Okay?
