Going through the motions.
Dec. 25th, 2004 04:55 pmTwo entries on Christmas day. Even I can appreciate that's both sad and lonely.
I am about to KILL MY FAMILY WITH KNIVES. Nan was pissed by TWELVE NOON and god the TV was an ongoing battle and will continue to do so all day. I have a vague hope I wil be able to steal it for Harry Potter, but I sense this will not happen. I have spent much of the day curled up, reading Going Postal. Which, fairly obviously, rocks. We also opened the presents under the tree - various toilettries and knick-knacks, the Once More With Feeling DVD from my sister (!) and over £100 in money and gift vouchers. Which is a bit nice. The best part was Sidg's present, which came through the door yesterday and turned out to be a bumper sticker reading "HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR POTIONS MATSER TODAY?"
Christmas dinner resulted in the awkward "So, have you chosen a political party yet?" question.
"This is not suitable company for that debate."
"Not Tory then."
"That's fairly obviously."
"OH MY GOD YOU'RE A LIB DEM!"
"This is not suitable company for that debate."
Dad then came in and told me that I would be disowned if I didn't go for Labour. I think he may have meant it.
Food was good, though.
Overall, I feel Scroogish. Bah, indeed. To be honest, I'd rather have Christmas with my friends - I had on lot of that last Friday and one on the 3rd January. There we are. Roll on Christmas?
Now it is snowing, and they are fuckoff big snowflakes. This could finally add to the Christmas cheer...
Oh, don't read my posts today. They're bloody miserable.
[Edit as of three minutes later: holy SHIT two centimetres of snow already! I'm going on a Quest with Dan. In reality I'm going to walk the dog, but there we are.]
