I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. I HAD A REALLY GOOD ENTRY WRITTEN UP AND LJ JUST ATE IT.

I want to cry.

Okay, so let's sum up. Friday night was boring. Saturday daytime ws also boring. I came home and ran around the house screaming "ARGHWHEREISMYEYELINERANDJEANSANDBAG!" since I had none of the above things. I was still doing this when Clare turned up at 6pm, but fortunately I had stopped whe Jess turned up an hour later. To make matters worse, I was distracted by Jurassic Park 2. That film sums up all of my primal childhood pre-zombie fears perfectly. I used to have dreams of dinosaurs looking through the window and the first film actually had me hiding behind the sofa, so yes. I am easily distracted. It is a bad quality of mine.

So, Jess turned up and we had a good old bitch-fest before we got to Wigan Pier. For those not in the know, Wigan Pier is not an actual pier. It's just the name of the old cotton buildings by the canal that were used for the cotton trade of Lancashire but they all shut down in the early part of the last century. Alas for the cotton trade of Lancashire. Wigan was hit badly by Thatcherism, and really the only thing going for it for a very long time was that it had the best rugby team in the country. < /bias> Lovely resotration people got involved and Wigan Pier - much like the Albert Docks - was done up as s tourist centre. It's quite good, actually, and very nice. Wigan Pier is also the subject of a George Orwell book, and the pub in Wigan Pier is called - surprise surprise! - The Orwell. It has function rooms at the top, as the whole building is an old warehouse.

Jess and I picked out high-heeled way across the boards of the Pier itself ("OH MY GOD I'M STUCK!") whilst Clare giggled at us, and then we wandered in. Lots and lots of people from college were there, including Liz, Kathryn, Julia and Lara, and we ended up commandeering a table and other people drifted past every so often. Laura wandered up and pointed enthusiastically at Clare whilst mouthing "Is that the girlfriend?", Kerry bought be a drink, I complimentd Faye, who said "I would have come over earlier, but I didn't recognise you!" talked to Sascha, got laughed at due to slightly drunkness. Louise wandered over and I complimented her and she did the same back. "You look so girly!"

Yeah, I got completely leathered. It's not big and it's not clever. I know. I wasn't a bad drunk, though - I was very happy and huggy to people and I remember the whole thing in a happy haze of alcohol. I definitely wasn't an annoying drunk, and I think I played the Quite Sober rather well. I danced quite a lot, and we managed to get 'Bat Out Of Hell' played in honour of Dan. Made complete sense to me, Julia and Kathryn anyway. I danced a bit more. Some bloke who I've never met before who I've mentally dubbed Patrick Squarepants (his name was Patrick. I think) possibly tried to come on to me, as I vividly remember him looking gutted when I slurred "Sorry, I like women" at him. Liz was also quite drunk. What stands out, though, is when I went to go and say goodbye to Lucy, and she cheerfully said "Yeah, I was going to come over and say hi before, but you two were really going at it!" which made me giggle in a faintly proud way. In the cold light of the morning, I know that I have to go into college and face these people. Oh, god.

EDIT at 21.09 from an MSN conversation with Day, I'll ignore the rest and just put the quote that amused me...

Most people only see that kind of thing on late night telly.

Oh, gods.

So, I wandered out with Clare round about 11.30 and hopefully I made a good impression on Liz's Dad, who leaned out of the car at me asking "Where is she then?" I hope I managed to sound sober when responding. Crawled into the car, and the ride was strange and floaty. I remember talking to Dad, but I don't remember what we talked about. I remember the lights flying past and dancing in the windows on the motorway, but the journey only seemed to last a minute. I remember holding hands with Clare. Hmmm. Maybe I was a little more drunk than I thought. Sobered up fairly quickly as I crawled into bed.

See, I am at a crossroads here. And due to the fact that yes, I really am sober now (there was joking last night about putting this in LJ and seeing if we could get the horrified screams from the Lunatics and other mutual friends registered on the Richter scale) I'm not going to say more than we Did Homework. *coughs* Make up your own conclusions, and tell me them if they're amusing. Besides, this is why God invented private entries. *says no more* Actually, we talked for much of the night (well, Sunday morning) although this evolved rather naturally into sleep at one point. I woke up disgustingly early and actually got out of bed. A lot of this can be attributed to the fact that Clare is an insomniac. I am not. I have been awake since 8.00am on a Sunday and I am quite perky. I did have to drink lots of water and paracetamol to make up for this fact, but I am not dead now. Hurrah!

Today I have revised Gov 1 again. Apparently, the trick for the synoptic paper is big words, fairly randomised quotes and quantity, not quality. Having just found the phrase "Butskellite neo-keynianism policies" and discovering I know what it means, I think maybe I will be okay. Must do English now. No, really. Must.

But I'm so LAZY! Also, my feet hurt from last night. I don't remember them hurting, so perhaps it's delayed pain.

The Orwell is pretty lame. You should have gone to the Tavern or the Tudor house. Or the Raven (where we played Vampire tonight).

Yeah, but that was where the party was booked! *shrugs* Tudor House is nice, though.
