OMG SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE.

Right now, I'm actually supposed to be working on coursework, but, well, I have my priorities. Battlestar Galactica fans, prepare to be deeply and burningly jealous.

The story begins with [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten, who, at SG9, met someone called Jamie Bamber. He plays Apollo from BSG. He is also in a play in the Liverpool Playhouse this week, a play by the name of Dr Faustus. He was playing Mephisitophales. Pleb that I am, I vaguely recognised the character name ("Isn't he an angel? Hmmm") and after many panicked text messages, off I toddled to Liverpool, and met Clare, Emily and Sara. We had sandwiches, we went to the Playhouse, we got ice cream. I still had no idea what was going to happen, but, well, never mind.

The play began. Written entirely in Shakespearean language (by Christopher Marlowe, which would explain it) it still took me about ten minutes to get my head around it. Slowly, though, I did. The set was beautiful - just a big library with two tables and some chairs, moved for the appropriate scene with different noises in the background. The cast was very small, with a lot of actors doubling up, and all in all I really enjoyed it. I feel Intellectual. Also, it was slashy! Mephistophales and Faustus were very, very slashy and Jamie Bamber - excuse my fangirlishness - was superb. He really was. Nothing like Apollo, obviously, but... well, there we are.

The play ended. Fangirls that we are, we toddled around to the stage door to wait. There were some other people there, and they were talking to some bloke in a hat. We presumed he had been in the play, so I went around to the front door to check they weren't going that way. I came back, clocked the bloke again...

"OH MY GOD EMILY EMILY EMILY IT'S JAMES CALLIS!"

One of my favourite characters in BSG is Gaius Baltar. He is English. He is played by James Callis. I NEARLY DIED OF SHOCK AND SQUEE. Before I could go up and say anything, though, he went into the stage door. Bollocks!

We waited around and collectively froze to death with some other BSG fans, who had come up from Darbyshire (!) and then both Jamie Bamber and James Callis came out of the stage door. I nearly died. Literally. Especially because I was very, very silly and didn't have anything for them to sign, bar my ticket. So, Jamie Bamber signed the front and James Callis signed the back. I made an idiot of myself and forgot how to spell, though, so my name is written Colline. I'll live. And then I got a photo! With both of them! And I was in the middle! And I got a hug! And I'm using too many exclamation marks! But I'm excited!

God, it was worth nearly freezing to death. It really, really was.

So, that was my fangirly night. I then went home, squeed at my mother, and now I am at college. Really should go and do something useful...
