Mar. 1st, 2005 09:50 amI have done no work whatsoever all weekend. In my defence, I was doing other things. Lots of horrible and emotional things seem to have happened to my flist, again leaving me feeling like a Bad Person, since I was not here.
So, my weekend. I spent much of Sunday asleep, or at least for the morning. God, but that was heavenly. I then, depressingly, had to get up and go to Thinking Day. I've explained this before, but in a nutshell it's the day when members of WAGGGS (World Association Of Girl Guides And Girl Scouts) get together and do various activities celebrating Guiding and whatnot. This year, I helped organise it, so I had to turn up early to help set up. This basically meant I made and poured cheap orange squash and set out biscuits. Each unit was bringing an activity, and this year, we brought Maori sticks. It's a New Zealand game, with a traditional song, and you basically whack sticks around. Great fun. Of course, when catering for the age of 5 in some cases, we had to tone it down somewhat.
The song we used? "Twinkle twinkle little star." The Maori gods are rolling around in their graves. I had to teach for an hour to different groups, all of whom seemed to be particularly stupid, and by god, my voice had gone by the end.
Oh, yes, the Guiders were meant to be doing this, but did they turn up? No. I am a Young Leader, and I haven't completed by CRB check yet. *le sigh*
Clare then came around in the evening, and we watched Pirates Of The Caribbean. Made all the pain go away.
Monday I slept in and did no work all day, as Jess came around with a bottle of wine. I'm not one of lifes wine drinkers, but it was rather nice, and I did end up getting fairly tipsy, as we had a traditional Girly Chat and combined it with Chinese takeaway. I then went out with Andrew in the evening, because he is moving far too soon, and I will miss him horribly.
This post is too short to describe all the stuff in my life that has made me not do work. Never mind. I have twenty minutes to finish politics. Easy!
*facepalm*
Oh, but you know what IS good with the world? Canon Angel/Spike slash, that's what! (Hole In The World. Joss Whedon SAID so.)
