Happy St Patrick's Day, everyone! *throws out Irish references* I have TWO Irish great-grandmothers (one on either side), red hair, greenybluey eyes, pale skin, and my name is an Irish saint and means girl in Gaelic. So hurrah, etc.

Everyone seems to be quite cheerful today, and you know what? I don't blame them. Last night was ever so much fun, as I met Clare, ate pasta at Hannah's, then toddled over to Iona's and it was all FUN. Holiday plans were vaguely discussed, and I successfully guessed the surpise holiday. Then, of course, I realised they hadn't confirmed or denied, and that suddenly about three other possibilities with equally strong merit came up and then I felt deflated again. Bah.

So, we then all toddled home and I was somewhat shocked to discover that we had a TOILET and a BATH in the FRONT GARDEN. I kid ye not. They were green, admittingly, so fitted in, but they were in the FRONT GARDEN. We are, for those who don't know, currently festooned with builders, as they are rebuilding our bathroom. Fortanately, with New Labour came some New Prosperity a far as nurses pay wernt, so a while ago we moved to the current house which has two bathrooms. The big one (I use that term laughingly - it's tiny, but does have a bath and toilet and sink) is downstairs and is being remodelled. The upstairs one is about the size of a toilet tent that old Girl Guides will remember with fondess and has a toilet and a sink. Basically, we have somewhere to pee. THANK GOD. However, it does mean that the neighbours can now see our old bathroom decor. It also made this morning somewhat awkward. Fortunately, I had a lie-in this morning so I was able to get up at 8.30 and lean over the sink, comb through my hair whilst tipping a jug of warm water over it and then basically go mad with a flannel and leaning over the sink. Funfunfun.

Andrew then came around and picked me up and we had such a good day. He came to my college for a short while, as I got in and discovered that my one and only lesson for the day was cancelled. Bah! So we ended up going on a quest to try and find MacDonalds, got completely and utterly lost, and then found it. Yay! So, back home we went, trooped to the chippie (diet go byebye) and then we drove off to Formby, because we wanted to go to the beach.

You see, today has been actually glorious. I woke up this morning and noticed sunshine. And springtime smells. And it was just so wonderful! I love Spring. I hate summer, mind you - the whole thing is far too warm and generally makes me ill, but spring is marvellous, and today was the first real day of Spring. I didn't have a coat all day! And as we were driving down the country lanes, playing cheesy music in Andrew's car (he's a dance fan, lamentably) and the sun was shining and it was just nice. Jess was in the back and I was in the front and we were singing and driving badly and I just loved life, you know?

Then we got a bit lost trying to find the free car park. We did swing by Iona's house (I pointed it out and was greeted with "Fuck, your friends are minted.") but you havr to pay for the priviledge of seeing the squirrels. No thank you. So, off to the other end and free beach HOURS LATER. The sun had gone in by the time we found the beach, but we braved it anyway. We trooped across the dunes and then saw the beach and behaved like slightly insane British people. Despite the fact it was grey and cold, we had no towel or way to dry ourselves, we took shoes and socks off and went paddling, for about three seconds. It's still March and HOLY FUCK was the water cold. We jumped in and out quite pathetically whilst shrieking about how cold it was. We suffered for it later, as without any method of getting the sand off we just walked back to the car (MILES AWAY) with no shoes on. Across rocks. And that nasty grass stuff. Lots of shrieking ensued. And again, it was kinda fun, though.

You see, Andrew came today because he's moving away to London in 10 days. He's the first one of my friends to move away properly and it's so sad. So today was almost a way of saying goodbye properly as we just giggled and had fun. We sat in the car with 'Ibiza mellow' or something on, and it was so dreamy, driving back through the country lanes, slowly drying out and feeling gradualy more cold. Sinuses objected to the cold sea, I think, as I feel quite dreaful again, but it was quite worth it. Andrew ended up coming for tea and we watching 'Finding Neverland' together due a slight obsession enjoyment of Peter Pan. Had I been in different company, I would have cried at the end. I did love it.

And now he is gone, although I will see him again before he goes and I will visit and vice versa when he goes. Now, however, it is the evening and I am sleepy and tired and ready to head of to bed. I've also just tried onmy dress, which came today. Erm... I cannot breathe too well in it, but we'll ignore that. I look slightly as though I need fangs and a wolf so that I can look mournfully at it and complain about what music it makes.

It's all good.

Damned baths. They're not making life easy.
