Mar. 18th, 2005 02:15 pmOh, thank god. It is officially Easter and I have started it with style. Despite the builders, I slept for THIRTEEN HOURS last night and I would have slept for more were it not for the fact I was slightly afraid of actually slipping into a coma when I woke up, realised it was noon and I had been conked out since 11 the previous night. Still, it was utter bliss, and I have had a long and lazy lunch involving mushrooms on toast and mentally prepared a disastrously long To Do List.
-Phone dentist
-Sort out CRB form
-Make CD
-Have bath and wash hair
-Sort out meals for the next three days
You see, I start Easter freedom in that nicest of ways - completely alone. It's Dad 20 year anniveray for graduating as a trained nurse, and he's off to Worchester to celebrate with the other people he trained with. Mum is taking the time to be with Grandad - she was technically imvited to it, as she was a nurse assistant and Dad's fiancee at the time of graduating, but she is mfifed as she's been made to feel Unwelcome. I suspect this is just my Mum being Mum as I heard some fairly enraged rants from a different woman down the phone at Dad but there we are. Megan is going down with them, so it's just me and the dog all weekend. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I debated a Crazy And Wild House Party but then decided against it on the basis that I really can't be bothered. Also, last time I did that it ended in Andrew passed out on my sister's bed, Day in the recovery position and checked every hour to check he hadn't choked on his own vomit, an embarrassing round of the ice cube game, and all of the covers on the sofa being washed due to make-up being on them.
Perhaps not. I'll have a weekend for me and the dog, and after I've got home from work (two HOURS travelling time there and back if you include waiting for the bus - you'd think two towns with linked hospitals and other services would have better links than a somewhat unreliable bus every 30 minutes) I will watch a film in the living room, happily curled up. Alternatively, I'll wander the internet just because I can.
Either way? It's a good way to start the holidays. Especailly since we now have a bath, although no shower.
Now to phone the dentist.
