hathycol: (the end is nigh [lvlwing])

Just realised that I only have very little money left to live off again - I have a £50 cheque waiting for a paying-in book, granted, but I have £30 in The World and the car will eat it all, given that I'm driving to Worchester this weekend. I think I have some old debts to call up, somewhere...

Yes. My money goes because I keep on nancing out to the cinema of an evening, which is rather good fun and gives me something to look forward to (really, it's worrying how much I do), but afterwards I'm always shattered and I realise my money is going rather quickly. I went to see The Island last night - erm, it was okay. I can say no more. Other than that Sean Bean is, in fact, God in disguise. I always knew it.

Oh dear. I'm always poor, aren't I? BIG payday next week, though, so I shall not complain. Well, not a lot. Even though ALL OF MY MONEY IN THE WORLD will go on petrol ONCE AGAIN. God, how depressing. But then, I am driving from Orrell to Formby tomorrow. Why am I doing this madcap journey, I hear you all cry! Because I went to college in Orrell, I reply, and I work in Formby. But why do the journey, I hear you bewail! Are you mad? Surely you've left college!

Why, yes, I have, but for anyone not stuck on my little rock and unaware of what day tomorrow, tomorrow I pick up my A-Level results. They're rather important, in fact - if I don't get an A in history, an A in another subject and a B in another subject then I will be unable to go to the university of my choice. A lot of other people are in equally miserable positions, to be fair, and it all rather just sucks. The thing is, this is my third year of Waiting For Results. I remember that I was a twitchy little rabbit for GCSEs weeks beforehand, and before AS-Levels I was incoherant the night before. Before my January results I was a little nervous. Yesterday, as we know, I was a wee bit nervous. Now, though, I'm actually okay. I'm having the first flutterings of fear, but I'm okay. I went around to Iona's after work (which I am SO MUCH looking forward to giving my notice into) and we watched the brilliant Spearhead From Space and the genuinely dreadful excuse for an episode that is The Three Doctors. God. The effects. They're so bad. We had a laugh with Hartnell/Troughton/Pertwee, though. "So you two are my replacements. A clown and a dandy!" I like Two, as I've said before. He's fab. We also think that the pronunciation of Omega is exactly how you say "omg!" so there were lots of plans to run around going "uhmuguh!" which is ALMOST THE SAME I SAY. We also watched Blue Peter for David Tennant and made small squee-ing noises. We want to take him home, yes, preciousss. Actually, it was just nice to see Iona and talk to her and wibble and whatnot. Hmmph. Stuff to think about.

ANYWAY. The conclusion is that I am not nervous. Instead, I am going to eat chocolate cake and drink white wine tonight AND SEE IF YOU CAN STOP ME. Unless I get a better offer, my night is fixed, or so it seems. Also, Lost is on, hooray etc.

So, as I have done for the last few years and will do so for the last time tonight, good luck to [livejournal.com profile] elyim, [livejournal.com profile] aramley, [livejournal.com profile] helonlegs, [livejournal.com profile] javelin_deano, [livejournal.com profile] natalie_333, [livejournal.com profile] lemonade_kiss and [livejournal.com profile] kestral_de_hara for their AS-Level results! They are terribly scary but I'm sure you'll all do fabulously.

And finally, for the scary biscuits university stuff, good luck to [livejournal.com profile] amchau, [livejournal.com profile] balthaser, [livejournal.com profile] bohemia_thinker (bet his politics result will be good), [livejournal.com profile] calmunity2, [livejournal.com profile] chanandlerbong, [livejournal.com profile] devlinrose, possibly [livejournal.com profile] dreolic, [livejournal.com profile] emmysuze's sister, [livejournal.com profile] flickerswitch, [livejournal.com profile] hammer_strike, [livejournal.com profile] jessiewessy, [livejournal.com profile] kts2k, [livejournal.com profile] loneraven, [livejournal.com profile] mettanna, [livejournal.com profile] minature_hero, [livejournal.com profile] playfullemming, [livejournal.com profile] pr1ncess_sara, [livejournal.com profile] puddykat86, [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow, [livejournal.com profile] rhaeselon, [livejournal.com profile] sevenhelz, [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten (box sets of BSG for £17.99? WHERE?), (possibly) [livejournal.com profile] sparkler__, [livejournal.com profile] tashmania and last but not least [livejournal.com profile] zeta_of_s.

Gosh, there are a lot of people on my flist stuck in the grinding of the educational system. Still, some of us are getting out of it tomorrow. OH YES.

Right. Chocolate cake. White wine. Stat!

(Is this the most inappropriate icon EVER or what?)

I think the fact that it took me a good minute and a half to work out why I was last is a reasonable indicator of just how stressed I currently am.

I'm still going through the phase of working out exactly how long it is until I can open the envelope (fifty-one thousand, three hundred and seventy-one seconds and counting (though probably significantly less by the time I finish writing)).

Unfortunately, my parents are preventing me from reaching the drown-myself-in-alcohol phase, by, er, hiding the wine.

Oh, and I rather think the prefix "in-" should be removed from your last sentence.

play.com - good news for the bank balance is they're awaiting new stock, heh. There are other places if you search on kelkoo.co.uk that are also 17.99 with free P&P

Good luck for tomorrow! I had an hour and a half soaking in the bath with a book, candles and relaxing facemask, and now I'm going to drink a bottle of malibu to forget, so better be getting along!

Good luck to you, too, dear!

If the end that is nigh also involves Cillian Murphy and Chris Ecclestone, I'm all for it. As long as I can still watch Lost.
