Scary, scary biscuits, and there was quite a lot of blindly clicking. I wanted to do some philosophy but it kept on telling me that my choices didn't exist. So never mind. I'll see when I get there. And oh yes, I appear to be taking a language. EVIDENTLY I AM INSANE. I'm no good at languages. Saying that,I did English Language at A-Level so I can't be that awful at linguistics. Spanish is meant to be easy to pick up. And I will need another language for when I try and work in Europe. So there we are.
Wish I hadn't ignored all my information for so very long. Still, never mind. I will phone them up on Monday and check.
Apparently Sara Cox is coming to my Fresher's Week. Oh, yay. If only she was still cool.
OH SWEET GOD THEY HAVE A DOCTOR WHO SOCIETY. *dances* That really just improved my day LIEK WHOA. I am so SAD but OH YAY.
... I wonder how I get hold of thse robes...
Yeah, okay, back to something that's not entirely self-centred. Today, I had a Phoenix only training session, and it was actually good fun. We turned up at Dan's to be greeted with his Dad.
"Erm, hi. Is Dan in? He is expecting us..."
"Last we say him, he went out with Claire and Rob."
"Oh. Um, can we use your garden for ten minutes, please?"
By 'we' I mean Simon and me, who were trying to be responsible and set up early. This didn't exactly work, but we did manage to get stuff together and there ended up being a small session of me, Simon, Jav, Peter, Rob and Kathryn. We focussed a lot of personal skills and I'm quietly confident that we might be okay on Sunday for my last ever training session. *wails*
Actually, I have a sneaking suspicion that tomorrow will be... interesting, to say the least. I shall Say No More and wait for tomorrow instead because I'll probably be wrong. But there we are.

Date: 2005-09-10 04:07 pm (UTC)I did Spanish GCSE, and it was hard and I never understood AT ALL. Though due to GCSE language exams consisting of ticking boxes and remembering a few set phrases, I got an A. So meh. It's just put me off going to Spain for life.
:O Doctor Who!! At Queen's Belfast, they have a Sinn Fein club. O_o.
I was reading the St. Andrews prospectus yesterday, and was rather scared by the "family" thing. It started saying about being "adopted" by older students, and that was fine. Normal. But then it got weird. Really weird. Something about costumes and latin inscriptions and gifts of fridges and shaving foam fights. O_______o to the max.

Date: 2005-09-10 04:10 pm (UTC)We'll see how the Spanish goes. I will freak out and end up doing something else, I think.
Yeah, that's the academic family thing, a lot of the older unis have it. I KNOW NOT WHY. But you get grabbed by older students and they adopt you. Apparently there's some weekend where they dress you up and there are foam fights.
I will admit, I watched the St Andrews DVD they hand out on Open Days with my best friend Andrew and we were crying with laughter at the very idea...
Oh, god, this is going to be my life.

Date: 2005-09-10 05:12 pm (UTC)I'd have to check with housemates as of next week, but if you give me a date then I will Sort It and tell you what you'd need to bring and stuff. It would be fab!

Date: 2005-09-10 06:41 pm (UTC)Flights are oddly much cheaper than coach or train, so will probably fly to Glasgow then coach to Edinburgh, then train to Leuchars then bus to St Andrews.
I'll have to travel the days before/after the open day, so I'll be with you two nights, would that be ok? 18th-20th October.
I'll bring cake! (Though whether it would still be deemed cake after the day's travelling is debatable.)

Date: 2005-09-10 07:38 pm (UTC)Bring money for food. I won't be able to feed you because I WILL BE POOR.

Date: 2005-09-10 04:45 pm (UTC)I want a t-shirt! I have no cool nerdy t-shirts. Maybe a Mona Lisa with "THIS IS A FAKE" across it.

Date: 2005-09-10 04:47 pm (UTC)I am so going to end up making you that for Christmas. White t-shirt, the Mona Lisa on the front, and on the back, scrawled by hand: "THIS IS A FAKE"
Well, there's one thing sorted for Christmas term.
no subject
Date: 2005-09-10 04:55 pm (UTC)*g* As long it's on the back, and not across the front. That could lead to quite the wrong message. It wouldn't be as bad as "these are fake", but really, there's absolutely no question of that.
I know what I'm getting you for Christmas. A straw hat with lots of pins!
no subject
Date: 2005-09-10 04:56 pm (UTC)The wrong message would be funny. You know it would.
And yay for straw hats. We may as well sell our soul to Doctor Who now and be done with it.

Date: 2005-09-10 05:03 pm (UTC)Yes, but I wouldn't be able to wear it in public! But I would anyway. :)
*g* I think we lost our immortal souls at that moment where Five asks, "You had time to change?"

Date: 2005-09-10 05:05 pm (UTC)And let's be honest, Doctor Who took us completely with That Kiss anyway. *stares at icon*
And you know you would. YOU KNOWS IT.

And for some reason, I can really imagine a conversation between Tegan and Teal'c. I have no idea why.

Date: 2005-09-11 10:19 am (UTC)Jack and Turlough! There would be snark! And further flouncing!
Someone needs to write it omg.
