Sep. 21st, 2005 01:59 pmOur house has the best of several worlds.
Last night, as you may be able to tell from my misspelled post, we stayed up late, drinking and basically talking rubbish.
Today, we got up late, and I took the Unofficial Housemate, Alex, to casualty. This is a long and complicated story. Basically, two nights ago, his academic father told him to jump off a huge concrete thing. He agreed, jumped, and has been hobbling ever since. However, I amaze myself in that I actually got out of bed and took him, rather than telling him to shut up and let me sleep.
So. We now have lots fo leaflets, labelled "A+E Trip Number 1!" stuck up in the lounge. Anything for a little colour. I also visited Leuchars to try and find out where the train station ws, for the express purpose of picking up
zeta_of_s and later in the year,
elyim. The drive is actually really pretty. The weather here is colder than Ormskirk (although Lisa, poor sod, came from California and lives permanently in three jumpers at the moment) but today is brilliantly sunshiney and the drive had lots of grass and moments. Although no rabbits.
Rabbits, by the way, are a bit of a theme of Gatty. You can't move for the buggars! We chased them last night (well, Josh did, as I actually cried with laughter while lying on the floor) but seriously, there are always a few about, and they're quite tame. We would feed them some of our carrots, but fresher's flu rages through the house and we need the vitamins from our three carrots. We also decorated that cake I mentioned last night with a rabbit. Didn't look anything lik a rabbit. But that's okay.
Anyway, I was talking about having the best of all worlds. We can go out and party like idiots. We can organise parties, it seems. But we can also do the quiet sitting-around-and-talking thing while drinking tea. And the best part? The house now smells of bleach and clean things. It's great. We just completely blitzed it, cleaning all the sand out of the hallwas, scrubbing the bathrooms and the kitchens and clearing out the lounge. Also, we all cook.
Our house, I have decided, pretty much has everything. I think we'll all go wrong when it comes to academic stuff. But there we are.
And I just had to stop in the middle of this post so that I could give people a lift into the at society thing, because Alex would not manage the fifteen minute walk. As such, I am alone in the house. I think. Not seen Lisa all day, and Salda is a Law Unto Herself and I rather suspect she hates me anyway, so I am pretty much alone. Weird.
This new life is, I have decided, very, very odd. And I'm still not over the novelty of taking my cup of tea upstairs. Mmm, tea. Actually, mmm, soup. I bought four packets of vegetable cupasoup for 34p. The Clearence aisle, I think, is my new best friend. As is Lemsip. *sneezy*

Date: 2005-09-21 02:34 pm (UTC)It is very cool. Still working my way through the new series one at a time, like savoring each chocolate instead of plowing through the whole box.
Any American crap you're craving? Let me know if there's any cheesy plastic shit I can send you. :-)
