Note to self: cheap red wine stains the lips. *looks scary*

So, I am fed up of waking up at later than noon. Housemates probably assume I have some kind of terrible sleeping sickness. I'm not sleeping for that long - again, in bed by 3am last night so I'm not over-sleeping - but I do feel bad in comparison. Derya and Sarah are working AGAIN. This is not normal. Although I should check when I have essays due in. I think it's about three weeks. However, I cannot do anything until I get my matric card sorted, so I will do that on Monday. Le sigh. Yet more money gone.

Rent is due in a week oh god.

So, yes. People are working and I'm sat wth dripping wet hair updating LJ out of a twisted rebellion. I have work to do - in fact, I've scheduled time to do it, as I'M NOT COOKING TONIGHT. The problem is that if I don't cook, no one does, and I have a lot of trouble functioning without an evening meal. Derya and Kaite just can't cook, and Sarah can, but always prefers to work. This... I dont know, it almost upsets me, because it leaves me looking either so arrogant that she thinks she doesn't need to work, or alternatively like a complete workshy eejit. I'm not a workshy eejit. Well, I am sometimes, but I think that people can quite genuinely work themselves into the ground and I don't want to be the one picking up the pieces. I'm mothering this house enough in doing the cooking. I am willing to bet a lot of money that the washing up won't be done when I get back downstairs again, and I'll have to do it because I cann't stand living like that. It's foul. And once again, I'll carry on doing it because I don't want to nag people into doing it so I just keep on doing it so people assume they don't have to.

Vicious cycle, no?

I don't, in conclusion, think I like it here on a weekend when I'm alone. At least I won't be here next weekend for yet another weekend of guilt that I'm not working. Last night was fun - we sat around and decided what we'd call Sarah and Derya's kids (and who they'd use for a sperm donor) while drinking the cheap red wine and eating doughnuts that Katie bought back from her trip home. Mmm. Doughnuts.

Oh fuck I need to take the chicken out of the freezer oh buggar buggar buggar. It just never stops. I'm oddly looking forward to seeing how this house copes once I have essays to do and can't do all this crap for people.

[eta: forgot I had laundry to do AS WELL]

[eta again: Ah. With some careful adding up, I just discovered the reason for my UTTER VITRIOL. Oh dear. Bad body! Bad timing! Stop now or I hit you with a stick! Don't think I won't!]

We just cook for ourselves. Simple. Although it means since I can't cook I'm living on microwavable food and apples...

So much cheaper to cook for four, though - pot of pasta bake for a couple of quid and some pasta for less than 50p for four of us, and voila! A meal on a budget of about 80p.

You have a point. Though there is fifteen of us so it would get messy.

would also take far too many pans. you probably don't have enough cooking space, unles you have about three ovens, and/or like really PLAIN food. and i mean really plain.

here's a cheap and simple sauce recipe:
take tin of tomatoes
chop out nasty bits and throw away
put in any herbs you happen to have that you think smell nice
put in salt and pepper
heat it up till it smells nice(r)

et voila. hort quizzeen. goes with pasta, rice, bread, bacon, cheese, pretty much anything really. it's probably as nutritious as soup, it's reasonably filling and it can be different every time. i used to live on pasta and tomato.

apologies if you or anyone there is allergic to said tomatoes, however.

Oh dear. Bad body! Bad timing!

I had an epiphany of that sort as well. I am beginning to daydream about my bathroom at home because it has a loo and bin in the same room. Innovation, people!

Ha, mine is more a case of "look at the calander and CURSE BITTERLY for a week of ANGER AND PAIN lies ahead."

We have a bin. There are some innovations in this crazy lifestyle of mine. Saying that, we are also a house who bakes lasagne in a roasting dish, so...

you bake lasagne? that's clever.

methinks i will join in the bitching, as i comforted myself during said week of anger and pain by buying a new toy from anne summers which i really couldn't afford, only to realisse that i would have to wait another three days to play with said toy without making a bloody mess all over the place!

don't let them leave all the house work to you, coz they'll end up taking it for granted that you'll cook and wash up for them. when they run out of clean dishes, they'll havve to wash some.

Well, yeah, you cook it, and then you bake it... apparently I makie lasagne in a delicious but strange way. I can deal with this.

and JULIA I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUCH A NICE GIRL. There are no such shops in St Andrews, it is not good and brings pain and generally amusement from all the couples to us poor sods in long distance relationships. SMUG COUPLES do not know how lucky they get it. Damn being a girl. Gets in the way of EVERYTHING THE HORMONES ARE CRAVING.

I want to cook right now. Don't know if I'll eat otherwise...

That is what the Ann Summers website is for.

mine is more a case of look at the little tray of pills and think "oh".
but only recently.
also, i have the best period pains ever. in some ways. i mean, hey, they completely ruined my life for about six months on the run, but they are at least cureable. once i worked up the nerve to talk to a doctor. huzzah.
