Oct. 17th, 2005 03:30 pmThere is a Henry Hoover in my front hall.
I have never wished for a digital camera so much as this moment so that you can all understand the sheer INSANITY of this. Why do we have a new hoover? Is it an enigmatic gift? Have the people who run self-catering worked out that our hoovers have all the sucking power of an asthmatic sheep?
Still, though, it brings puzzlement. I only nipped home to pick up my medieval history notes so I can, like, get some books out of the library. CAROLINGIAN RENAISSANCE HERE I COME. Or something like that. I am tremendously unprepared, I just realised. Oh well. I'll get it sorted before long. Through sheer confusion.
Last night, I stayed in and watched The Prince And I with Sarah and Derya. This all made sense at the time. The film was, to be blunt, a bit rubbish. The odd moment made me go misty-eyed, but really, I don't think the film knew what it wanted to be. Romcom? Ironic look at the Danish monarchy? Feminist? Love-Conquers-All? Very confused. I spent two hours of my life and I have no idea, other than a clear picture that the dress looked crap.
Right. To the library!
