My day is, technically, over. However, I have to go and put a chicken (note to self - sure, it's on sale and works out cheaper but it's a BITCH TO COOK when you get an EXTRA LARGE whole chicken) in the oven and then scarper to the medieval history library and work until I fall over.

Look at the date, people. Just two months ago (or from another persective, two whole months ago) I was completely psyched about passing my A-Levels.

*looks at old entries*

Erm, looks as though I wasn't, actually. I was quite relieved that I was going to be at St Andrews in a sort of "Christ, but it would have been gutting to go to Aberdeen." I was just... numb that I had managed to do it and more importantly I was really cheerful that I had the chance to go to a new life and a new university and stuff. Now, I am thoroughly settled in. My room is messy and looks - and feels - homely and like mine. The house is sufficently lived in. I have become accustomed to the crap shower. I don't mind the walk. I can use the library! (Quite the achievement for me.) I even know the train route to Cambridge. But yes, two months since I got my results and just over a month since I moved in. It feels like forever and no time at all. Very peculiar.

I think I'm feeling a little claustrophobic. I have no idea what the alternative is, though, as there is nowhere to go around here. I think I might wander about the golf course or something. Plus, y'know, off to Cambridge again on Friday *bounces* so that's something to look forward to.

I'm just exhausted. I crashed out at about 2am and then woke up this morning feeling like I was about to die with about twenty minutes to go before I had to leave the house.I made sandwiches and had a shower, but no time for breakfast, which made it difficult to concentrate on the medieval economy. Although I am enjoying doing the Reformation in modern history in a way that is almost obscene. It's just so fascinting! I think I need to pick up some divinity modules, because I am quite seriously enjoying the religious aspect of history. Hmm. Choices, choices. No more damned Spanish, that's for sure.

...

The new Madonna song is crap. I hear the Abba and get excited because I think it might be Abba, and that would have cheesy fun! But it's not. So I feel sad. And who the hell samples Gimme Gimme Gimme anyway?

Right. Chicken then the South Street library.

OHMUHGUH I cannot believe I forgot to mention this. Guess who met David Thewlis today?

Well, not me. I did, however, peer at him as he crossed the street and nearly walked into me, gave me alook of "Oh, god, one of them" and quickly walked into Boots. Since following him in is probably technically illegal I didn't, and made do with hysterically texting [livejournal.com profile] loneraven whilst making squee noises. It's all good. Hurrah for a town of pretentious golfing grounds!

...are easier to cook if you chop them into smaller bits first. You might need a really BIG knife, though, and possibly some illegally sharp scissors.

!!!!! David Thewlis !!!!!

I don't even LIKE David Thewlis yet the idea of you seeing him still makes me go !!!!!!!. And I would SO have followed him in and indeed followed him back out and down the road at an ever hastening pace.

Really don't think about how quick the time passes. One moment I was a fresher drinking the rugby team under the table and suddenly I'm a final year student and I have to think about scary stuff like the "real world". Arg!!
