Feb. 6th, 2006 11:08 pmSo, let's try and catch up.
Saturday night was lovely. Simon, you see, has manflu. I think I mentioned this. Actually, he's really not well and I shouldn't laugh, but there we are.
Seeing as it was my last night, he insisted on cooking. He was somewhat stressed about it, but I didn't think anything of it. He cooked the meal - something pasta-y involving posh mushrooms - and then looked shy. "Um," he said, "Happy Valentines."
I melted a little bit.
Of course, there are those who might argue that the emotional impact of thus might be taken away by the fact that, well, I had deviously managed to drag him from the college and take him for a meal the night before for the exact same reason, but to those I say: great minds think alike.
We had also agreed not to get anything for Valentines. Erm. I'm not getting a card, though, because they are all cheesy and pants.
And you know what? I prefer the way we did it. We like food. We seem to like each other, which can but help. Situations means that we won't be together for the actual day, so we made up for it. It was... lovely, just enjoying being with each other and all that sentimental crap that all of you skim by on your flist because you all go OH NOES COLLEEN IS BEING SENTIMENTAL.
Sunday was of the awful. Last days are always of the awful and I don't want to write anymore.
So!
Today. She is a Monday, and I started back at university today, sort of. I had medieval at 10, bought stationary in the middle, came home, went to modern at 12, and then trailed around buying books on the cheap and shouting at the library for not having what I wanted. Went to Russian at 3 after finally finding it and think that class will be ace. The reading list seems interesting enough for me to crack and buy everything it had on it that I could find second hand, the lectures seem like good fun for the history component (I have three history lectures tomorrow. Worryingly, this is bliss for me) and there are two tutorials in total. And educational videos. Hurrah for random class choices!
I have, however, spent far too much money. More depressingly, my washing and my books and ym stationary is spread everywhere and I have yet to put any of it away. Erm, whoops.
Let's see how tomorrow goes. To Do List is still scary.
