I love Russian Literature. We just had a lecture on science-fiction and utopianism. I have also signed up to be on the internal committee thingie. In front of the entire lecture theatre.

Lecturer: Okay, well, we need someone articulate and willing to speak and one from this class to represent it... it'll be in the Buchanan building... there'll be sandwiches! Anyone?

Me: Are the sandwiches free?

Lecturer: I believe so...

Me: I'll do it then.

Free things are things of love.

So, Rebecca is coming for food in a bit. We are debating whether to just be entirely honest ("we're the dyke house, except we're not always because, y'know, two hetrosexual couples running about but they're noisy too and also we are geeks, any questions?") or seeming wonderful so that she signs up to live with us. We are desperate, though, but it's a bit unfair to make her live in the same house as us. I read [livejournal.com profile] loneraven's thing about being one of her housemates and all I can think is: Christ, try being us. 4/5th queer, two MAJOR geeks, one couple who have sex a lot, one girl with a boyfriend who is also noisy and tramps around here a lot, one girl with a fiance who moves in at the end of every term for a few weeks, two people who drink a lot, three people who go out a lot, a generic love of alternative music, a complete openness regarding sex lives (actually a necessity; when the walls are this thin and there are this many people, you need to be open-minded and also have a very tentative schedule if it involves different floors) and all with a strangehold on the kitchen.

Well, you love us or hate us. We've decided that the right thing to do is leave out the condoms that are still in the kitchen, neatly stacked. (Selda cleaned last night.) If she freaks out, we need to panic and find someone else.

Busy, busy.

I also have to go and try and find out where Andrew Melville Hall is before I pick her up. I am that good, you see.

My hair is no longer orange. It is sort of gingery, but, um, the highlights are stronger than they were. Hmmm. It is a puzzlement and indeed a mystery. I only just worked out that I liked it last night!

I have no more lectures until Monday. I approve of this schedule now that 9am isn't a part of it.

Hehe, good luck with the housemates. Make sure you choose carefully and be sure not to turn into Kag. Also good luck with the internal committee thingy, look what's happened to me! Just remember that you're paying for your education and you have the right to demand the best possible product from the university and don't put up with any of their bureaucratic nonsense.
