So, took my first pill today because you take them on the first day of your period. They are small and tiny and amuse me slightly, although not feeling it go down when I took them is a new experience for me. It looks as though midday will be my rough time for taking them, which fits in quite nicely to my lifestyle.

It's a very odd feeling. I am now officially a Sexually Liberated Young Woman or some crap like that. Mostly, I'm just like "I'm putting hormones in my body! Weird!" but that's just the novelty of it.

I'm only chronicling today because it's the first one and probably important or something. I doubt it is, really, but I'm going to try and do this properly. Mostly, though, I'm just suffering from a hangover and period pains. *winces*

I need an icon for this so people really know what posts to avoid.

Just be careful if you drink to much and upset your stomach cos your Pill might not work! Did you get a good lecture from the GP on its use?

I got a good lecture and whatnot on How To Take It and What Not To Do and stuff like that. There is also a handy information leaflet which I have written down the main points of and stuck to my wall.

... why, yes, I am paranoid regarding contraception.

Luckily, I have been sick from alcohol, um, maybe twice in my life? I just get headaches.

I think this will really amuse me.

I have a feeling this is true. It could be an interesting experiment if nothing else. I'll actually be disappointed now if nothing bloggable happens.

What could happen though?
Yet again, not pregnant, no surprise there =p

Well, I'm actually really interested to see how my hormones change and how my moods are affected. I know my PMT is rotten for four days (oh, it's been a fun week) and I want to see exactly how this will affect it. I also want to see if my acne will improve, how the cramps will sort themselves out, that sort of things.

It should be interesting.

And probably very funny, after watching Katie's adventures with it.

I am also not pregnant. The pill is just safer if taken properly and also free. We shall See.

Yeah, but if you go to the clinic you get free condoms. & they protect against STDs too.

I thought that the pill can make you have worse cramps & stuff.
How did Katie react to it?

I think I'll see how you go on before I decide if I'm gonna get off my ass & go on it. If it improves PMT & cramps I'm all for it.

To be fair, I don't think STDs are quite such an issue...

Exactly. Wouldn't be on it otherwise.

I am all in favour of condoms, but I'm not sleeping with anyone else and neither is Simon, so it's okay for me.

The Pill apparently sorts out the cramps. You get a priod, but it's not a proper one - no cramps, no PMT. It's all good.

Katie has been ANGRY and SHOUTY and EMOTIONALLY CONFUSED LIKE CAPS LOCK HARRY all month. She says it's hideous, like having PMT all the time. However, she says there's only some mild cramps when you start because your body does the cycle differently, but other than that she's been okay.

I will be your test dummy and we'll see...

When I went on Microgynon, I felt sick for about 2 months. Now i'm fine and it does make my periods a lot better. Word of advice: don't do the thing where you run packs together to avoid an unwanted period. That REALLY gives you PMS!

BTW I'm Adam's (me_and) girlfriend if you didn't know.

Thanks for the advice - it all helps!

Yeah, I knew who you were. :-)

I will be reading this with avid curiosity.
My Mum has been on the quarterly injections for the last few years (although she probably won't need them for much longer, being 50 now), and they made her life (and mine, when we were renting together) so much more bearable.
Good luck!

I hope to be interesting, entertaining and informative.

Will probably be angry, fat and depressed...

You are the first really positive comment - thank you!
