The anger has disappeared, mostly, which is good.

My skin appears to be improving. Okay, you wouldn't be able to tell if you weren't, say, me, but I can tell. There's nothing new developing and it's been like that about five days now. Of course, I might just be flukey and lucky, but still, it's a fluke I approve of.

Do not want to be sick. Will hurt Katie in a loving way if I am. As of tomorrow, I am safe to have wanton sex should the mood take me (it's not. Simon gets here in nine days thankyouverymuch) and I will not be safe for seven days after that if I do spend a day or so throwing up. Except I stop taking them in, uh, seven days. Am I still safe after that if I'm not taking the Pill because it is the break time?

Hmmm. Confusion. I should check the leaflet, but I'm only putting all my thoughts down because it's nice procrastination from a gobbet about the Declaration of Independence. I probably shouldn't be using A-Level Politics notes to do so, but there we are. Failure, baby!

Yep. You're safe throughtout the break, provided you took it properly in the break. Which is a Good Thing.

You realise that you give the clearest and most consistent advice on this issue? This amuses me slightly for all the wrong reasons.

I think that you can't trust them for 7 days after missing one/throwing up/whatever, regardless of whether that's through the break or not. I mean, there're times through your cycle where you couldn't concieve, but even if you knew within about a day as to when they'd be -- which is about as accurate as the pill will give you -- you should still use a condom if you're not on the pill.

Heh. I never thought about myself as a Microgynon 30 expert. Everything I know, I know from Jo (about 3 years on it), or courtesy of GCSE Biology :P

Alas, my school ws not forthcoming on this issue. My education on this matter consisted of "you'll go the hell if you use it, you know" and that was the end of that.

And I never really researched it myself, because, well, lesbian. This is a confusing new world for me.

Adam's right. You can't trust them for 7 days if you've thrown on up/ill etc. If miss a pill, and you have less than 7 left, then you should really run two packs together. This is what it says on the instruction leaflet, and your gp should have also told you this when he gave you the pill.

I heard from a gp on morning tv that you can infact miss a pill and your protection would probably still be covered. I have a friend who also misses/throws up pills regularly and NEVER uses condoms. I would rather be safe than sorry and suggest that if you are in an doubt about whether you have absorbed the pill or not then you should use condoms for the next week.

Yeah, I ran 2 packs together in that scenario (I used to be on Microgynon 30 too!) So yeah, you should be fine hun.

You need to check your leaflet to be sure, but basically, throwing up is only an issue if you do it soon enough after taking your pill that you won't have digested it properly (mine say this is within four hours of taking it, but yours may be different). Throwing up during your break week won't have any effect.

umm, i'm not sure if technically it makes a difference - fairly certain the time between taking it and throwing up will matter... i took one in a morning once and threw up lunch, still not pregnant. woo.
