It has been a challenging week, as they go. Sunday heralded a catastrophic hangover, entirely deserved but then I had a lovely birthday so no complaints here. Man, I've missed drinking wine and being sat in the sun. And barbeques. However, I watched the Closing Ceremony on Sunday night rather than sleep, which was an error as this week I am doing all of the overtime.

Anyway, on Tuesday I managed to get a parking ticket through idiocy, and then had maybe the worst night of my life. The kids upstairs refused to settle down, and then the parents decided the best idea they'd ever had was to argue above my head for about four hours. At 1am, I gave up the ghost and went to sleep on the sofa, which was surprisingly comfy until Richie woke up and panicked because I had gone and taken my pillow with me. ("Where did you THINK I'd gone?" I enquired the next morning.) After that I sort of just... stayed awake, so Wednesday heralded me sort of seeing things a bit and crying if presented with anything challenging, which of course work did rather a lot.

And on Wednesday night, my laptop broke. I think I know what the problem is (loose connection somewhere about the battery and/or charger plug) but I don't know how to fix it, but I need my laptop for just about everything so that's another fee for repairing stuff.

HOWEVER, there is light at the end on the tunnel. Passport is BACK BACK BACK which means I am actually going on honeymoon, and by the way, Pam in the Priority Office in Liverpool is a saint. And they are showing prospective new tenants around the flat above mine. I know, I know, it might be a case of better the devil you know but that means that this evil family is officially MOVING and taking their NOISY FUCKING CHILDREN with them and the people they're showing around seem not to be carrying children which is all I ask for these days in terms of People What Live Above My Head. (That and no drug dealers again.)

So I may be out of communication for a bit, grabbing what I can on my phone and on my lunchbreak until I get this thing fixed. Still, have sent e-mail to computer repair place in Southport that seems okay, so let's see. Now off to use what's left of the battery to buy Interrail tickets. Yay! (And then eat nothing but lentils for the next two weeks.)
