Might have just got caught for speeding. Erm, whoops. I think I might be okay for it, because I slammed the brakes on just before I turned around the corner and was going slowly before I actually got to the speed-gun. The police man shouted something at me, that may have been "We'll get you next time!" or possibly "HAHA YOU LOSE."

Either way, I am annoyed about this. Scotland is scary and involves a court appearence, which will be ever so irritating if I am in England if the summons come. I do not fancy driving to Kirkcaldy, thank'ee very much. Nor am I so hot on losing three points on my license, either. If anyone knows how speedguns work better than I do (alas, I am only an expert on speed cameras and the avoidance thereof) then please feel free to give me some advice.

I'm 90% sure that I didn't get caught - if it ws a speed camera, for example, I know that I'd have missed it by plenty and surely the two work the same? - but I am still going to be on knife-edge for the next few weeks when my mum phones about any mail I might have gotten. Bah, bah, bah. This is horrible. I have Learnt My Lesson. Never speed where you might be caught!

*crosses fingers and hopes and prays for the best* The police wouldn't actively shout at you and look a bit annoyed if they'd caught you, would they?

*flails* I will breathe again if nothing has turned up in two weeks. It's not like I can phone and say "So, hey, when do I have to come in?" and it turns out that I AM INNOCENT I SAY.

It is a shame, because [livejournal.com profile] amchau has been here, and it's been ever so lovely, being very geeky and um forgetting to phone Iona because I am a BAD HUMAN but um yes.

And now, I have to go and work my backside off. Because, you see, an essay on the economic history of the Mediterranean is just what I want to do right now.

I detest essays (i have two due by noon on thursday and only half of one written - eeks). Surely Uni's don't *really* need us to do them, not really?

hope it all turns out ok re: speeding (or not). Policemen wonder why ppl don't like them, seems pretty obvious to me; they try and take your money&licence, then shout at you as well!

Two due tomorrow - the one if noon is written, the one for 5pm has a title written. And I have one for Thursday thats half written. I suspect I did it in the wrong order...

I hope it ends up okay too! *wibbles*

I wouldn't have thought they'd yell at you if they'd got you ... maybe you have a light not working or something? Hope it turns out ok, anyway.

No, they had speed guns, but my thought is that they wouldn't yell if they'd caught me. I have some limited respect for the police as a force, but none for the petty individuals that do traffic work, and I honestly think they were probably trying to just scare me or something. Kim's stepdad is a driving instructor and has been giving me advice about this, so I think I should be okay. Cross your fingers for me!

If they clocked you, the one not holding the gun will stand in the middle of the carriageway and hold up both hands.
That's what happened when my then-boss' girlfriend was caught speeding, anyway.

That is the best news I've heard all day. I am slowly beginning to breathe all day...

Your icon looks faintly Freudian to me. Possibly I am just filthy milded.

You're welcome!

Freudian icon? Is Nepenthes rajah, the most capacious carnivorous plant going! (And only took me about 2.5 hours and FIVE ATTEMPTS to make.)

I know it's a plant, but just look at it. Is it just my sex-starved brain reading things into plants now?

It is very pretty, and completely worth the many hours it took.

*Blush*
Thank you! It was 16 frames to start with, which came in at nearly twice the maximum permitted file size. There was a certain amount of flailing, and bits were removed and tried again... It's now eight, I think.

Sex-starved? Try this one!

haha. that reminds me of the time i nipped to steve's to pick up some music in the break from band - we were only supposed to have five minutes, and the drive takes roughly two, leaving one minute to find and pick up music as well as general dithering time in all areas. oops.
when i got back i said "sorry, i drove as fast as possible. *glances around* without breaking the speed limit of course".
this made olly (who i had taken with me) giggle immensely. i enjoyed that practice.
