I just saw School Reunion, finally. I blame this on having to work until eleven on Saturday and being so tired I basically just wanted to fall over in a corner when I got home, and being in a dance rehearsal for fourteen hours on Sunday and actually falling over into a corner.
However. The general point is that I woke up this morning and finally watched it. Spoilers ahoy!
K-9 FOR THE WIN. No, really. He always annoyed me a bit - product of my father who makes angry noises about robot dogs and Doctor Who being in colour - but oh, K-9! I cried my heart out at the end.
Sarah-Jane makes me happy. Liz Sladen was perfect. (No mention of The Five Doctors though!) I loved her affronted "ABERDEEN!" reaction, and the way she interacted with Rose, but mostly? The way she reacted to the TARDIS. The look on her face was just... perfect. I mean, what would you do? (Also I thought that Sarah-Jane and the Doctor were doing it in Pyramids of Mars when I saw that about a year ago. Me for the win. You all mocked me at the time, but now, I win!)
I want the Doctor as my physics teacher. I do, however, find it fab to realise that I knew the answer to the first question. (To be honest, though, me and physics worked with me shouting "REFRACTION! REFLECTION! ATTRACTION! REPULSION!" in the vague assumption that one would end up being the correct answer.)
HOWEVER, the season arc, to me, looks suspiciously like Throwing Rose Out Of The TARDIS. No, really. We've got the set-up for it now. We, as an audience, are now aware that Rose is not All There Is.
"I am bringRomana them all back..." Oh, please. He never liked the Timelords, except possibly in their entity as someone to dislike, but Romana is another matter. Yes, Ten is the Lonely God. And it was Sarah-Jane who brought him back down, even though Rose was there to hear that everything has a time, and everything dies.
I do like Mickey. No, I really do. He is the tin dog but also he is a sweetheart. He's probably also better at getting across gravel.
I am mildly concerned at next week's episode purely on the basis that it falls in my revision leave and, um, on the revision plan of doom I am actually studying the French monarchy and court at that point and I will either get deeply confused or shout angrily at the TV screen a lot.
In conclusion, it took me bloody long enough to finally watch it, but oh, I loved it to small and tiny bits.
Anyway. I woke up at about ten today, and couldn't get back to sleep, but now I am tired again (fourteen hours! Did I mention?) so may nap for a little bit, and then clean the hovel that is my bedroom, Febreze my costumes, and then I have to pick up Simon from the station at about five.
Why, yes, you did read that right.
*does a small dance of glee, which isn't as gleeful as last night's "WHAT REALLY?" dance*
Last chance for tickets! Come on! Tonight is the one night you can see me in ballet! See-through skirt! Come on, that's an advertisement in it's own right! Skinny ginger birds doing hip-hop! Boy Ballerina being a bit of a ho! When Limp Bizket Met Advanced Ballet! Actually really very talented people loking fabulous on stage sometimes too!
... There's a bar at the interval and it's dirt-cheap?
All in all, I am feeling very cheerful about life in general. Because I have no lectures whatsoever, I don't have to revise yet according to Personal Revision Plan, Simon is, y'know, on a train, I get to show off like a crazy person for the next three nights and, erm, yes.
Right. Cleaning.

Date: 2006-05-01 12:46 pm (UTC)The Time Lords did the mindwipe trick on the companions, in order to avoid tricksy things like paradoxes. They were good like that.
Lis Sladen is wonderful, and I wish they'd spun it into a two-parter. That way, we'd have seen more of
Gilesthe Nescafe manthe Prime MinisterTony Head, too!And congratulations on your passenger-collection at five!

Date: 2006-05-01 03:44 pm (UTC)School Reunion was so much love, yes, so, so beautiful, the reactions and interactions between Sarah Jane and the Doctor. Until you mentioned it, I had entirely forgotten that there ought to be mention of The Five Doctors, hmm.
