I deleted the last entry because ti was badly constructed and also wanky. So sue me, it's my livejournal.

The point is that yes, I do have some nasty bad stuff going on at home because I think everyone is adjusting to the fact that I have gone away for a year, and yes, I have changed and now I have to go back to the same constructs and the same boundaries and argh. I don't like the fact that if I'm feeling a bit rubbish, I can't just go for a midnight wander. I don't like having to share internet time. (That is thoroughly selfish. I know.) I dislike the fact that I can't cook what I want, when I want - instead, I have to eat some rather bland and Slimming World friendly stuff. I hate living with my sister, and if I'm rude to her, then I'm in trouble. If I'm polite to her, then "I'm in a mood" and get a rollicking for that. I can't actually win here and already I'm despairing of the fact that I have thre and a half months to go.

Unfortunately, there's not an awful lot I can do about that right now. So I will stay put and stay quiet. Except, of course, I'm nancing off to Cambridge in a week and there is no power in the 'verse that can keep me from spending a large amount of time there.

Except, of course, gainful employment.

This morning, I woke up, looked at the Job Centre website, and starting phoning around for jobs. The first one I phoned gave me an interivew at the Southport job centre at 2pm. Well, okay then. I put on my Interview Suit and dashed out of the door, into the blazing sunshine.

Many forms later, I have a job. I am an Agency Cleaner, and my task? Pontins!

Oh, god. Chalet cleaning, wherein Everything Must Be Perfect. (Also, I think I am doomed to existence as a cleaner.)

Minimum wage, naturally, but 9-5 Monday to Friday, so money is money and a job is a job. It's also over all the summer, and I can quit at pretty much my own discretion, so that's not too bad either.

So, there's me sorted for the summer. Two weeks (with a three day break in the middle) in Cambridge starting next week, and then I am working for the rest of it, which is about... um... 14 weeks of Pontin's related fun. Yay!

.... where the hell is Pontins in Southport, anyway? I spy a road trip. EXCEPT THERE IS NO ONE AROUND WHO LIVES SOMEWHERE I CAN GET TO AND SOUTHPORT IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. *shakes fist*

Anyway. There's that done.

Now, lovely fandom type humans, I have a question to ask. Due to the aforemention crushing boredom, I actually have nothing to do. As such, I looked on my computer in a sort of "what can this thing actually do?" type of way. A few hours on MovieMaker, I have made my first ever really dodgy fanvid. However, I have no idea how to turn it from .wmmp to something that other humans can play, such as .wmp or preferably .avi. Can someone help this foolish n00b?

On a random note, I had a dream last night where I gave birth to twins, and no one believed me that I was in labour. However, I called them Scott and Jean, which I think is translation for 'I NEED TO SEE X-3 NOW PLEASE." It's on my list of stff to do next week...

And now, I am going to go and buy carrots. Don't ask me why, because I'm making bolagnaise for tea tonight, but I have to obey orders.

Are you by any chance in Merseyside between 12th-20th June, or in Cambridge between, um, 21st-23rd June? Because that is where I will be at those specific times...

I am in Merseyside for those dates, but I leave Cambridge on the... *cehcks calender* 20th. So I can meet up in Liverpool!

Ah, wait, I tell a complete lie. I'm available in Merseyside on... the 14th and the 15th of June, but that's about it. Cursed need to look after the dog! (No, really. That's why I'm not in Cambridge on those dates.)

Groovy! Well, I get back on the sunday before then so obviously have no idea what I will be doing that week (apart from frantically looking for a job...) so consider one of those days taken for the time being. Woo!

Pontins southport is actually in ainsdale. If you get into southport and end up at the bottom end of Victoria park (near safeways/morrisons) then head down the costal road towards ainsdale and you'll see it on your right off the big roundabout between the two stretches of the coastal road.

(hows that for a crap description?)

Yep, t'is basically on the coast road between southport & ainsdale.
Not too sure which would be the best way for you to get there, probably to go to Kew then go down towards ainsdale from there & maybe head to the formby bypass but go to the start of the coast road, your other option is to get to ainsdale & find the way to the coast road from there. Google earth may be your friend or some other sortof roadmap =p

I'm trying the "But, Dad, please?" map and making him drive me there. I am lazy.

See, my description is "near the sea! And a roundabout! And some green stuff! I went near it on a driving lesson!"

So this is actually quite helpful. Although driving in Southport terrifies me - every lesson and both tests were there, so I always get a little twitchy...

carrots in Spag-bol? That doesn't seem right?

Have you thought about office admin - if you can use outlook and word, you are qualified to be a manager ;)

I'd actually love office admin work, but there's nothing going around here. I might, however, go out tomorrow and hand out my CV. It would look better on my CV and be more useful (... maybe civil service work later on...) than many many jobs as a Cleaning Monkey.

Admin is a doddle to get into - just say how you organise your file structure/studies and that you run a Society etc. They lap that kind of thing up, employers do.

Okay, to make a vid turn from .wmmp to .wmv just follow these easy steps.
-Open the vid you want to change in WMM.
-Click on the thing that says 'Tasks'. (It is just below 'help' up the top).
-Under 'Finish Movie' click 'Save to my Computer'.
-Follow the little wizard.
-You have a finished vid! Just look for it where-ever you saved it.
To convert from .wmv to .avi I'm not sure how to do. Sorry 'bout that. Hope the steps were helpful, k?
