So, I'm sat here with a perfect ballet bun in and beautiful make-up carefully applied, and I'm waiting for the right time to put my dress on. You see, tonight is the Jesus College May Ball. It should be great fun, but I'm feeling somewhat bitter.

You see, due to security considerations, everyone has to be out of their rooms by 6pm. The ball starts at nine. Simon and I have, um, nowhere to go in the three hours in between this, so in full black tie regalia, we are off to Pizza Express, as it's the nearest place to sit down.

BY GOD BUT I WILL FEEL SELF-CONSCIOUS.

Also, for some craxy reason, I thought feathery hair thingies were the way forward for tonight. It has just dawned on me that they are black and I am wearing black. Basically, I am going to look like the Black Guardian which wasn't quite the look I was going for. Also, I am not so pro Turlough killing the Doctor kthxbai.

Also I look a little bit like I am about to take off in the manner of a bird of prey. KAKAAAAW! *makes flappy arm motions*

Simon, understandably, laughs at me when I do this. IT CAN BE MY PARTY TRICK.

*runs away making arm-flappy motions in a full-length black ballgown*

(I may post when I am pissed at about 4am tomorrow morning. FREE ALCOHOL ALL NIGHT BABY. Ohgod. Good thing this dress is second hand)

Large parts of our college have been closed all day, and our ball isn't until tomorrow! And everyone will be kicked out from noon tomorrow, so for once it's a good thing I don't actually live in the castle.

Have ye fun in pizza hut, anyway, and enjoy the ball! I must see Turlough's debut episode...

Gosh - you know about the Black Guardian! Ya realise you are the FIRST Doctor Who fan I have come across in quite a while who is familiar with the classic series?
I too wear a lot of black, except I tend to end up looking like a cross between a stick of liquorice, Robert Plant and Lord Vetinari. *rolls eyes*
ANYHOW to my point, I have added you to my f-list because you seem pretty interesting. Not every day I come across a northern History student who enjoys Discworld, Doctor Who and general science fiction, AND can sustain an interesting ethical discussion without it descending into hate and flaming - just like moi.
Hope you don't mind addage, if so I will remove you, if you don't mind then yay.

I wear black for formal occasions. I am unsure why. I think I am a Gothic Princess, but one that normally wears blue.

I am more of a Gothic Hippy Celtic thing myself. The goth and hippy comes from my mother, the celtic-ness from my regular walking holidays in the Scottish Highlands. This was in fact a leading reason in my application to Glasgow Uni, where I shall be going to do History in autumn, grades permitting.
