Aug. 28th, 2006 02:47 pmIt has been so long. I am very sorry! I have exciting tales of my Long Weekend Of Wonderfulness, though! And hurrah for that!
So. Thursday was a day that happened at work, but then I went to Primark. This was a bit of a mistake, as I now have one completely useless jumper amongst some other bitys and bobs, but OH WELL SAY I.
It was also Megan's GCSE results day; she did well enough, but more importantly I AM FOREVER NOW GOING TO BE ACADEMICALLY SUPERIOR. And that's what counts, surely?
The evening was much more pleasant; I colonised the spare room and it's pull-down bed of doubleness, and Simon came to say. We watched The Producers, which still makes me cry with laughter, and generally had a Nice Night. Friday I was not in work AND IT WAS THE MOST GLORIOUS LIE-IN EVER, especially since I woke up next to Simon and got a morning hug. Yay for that! We ended up spending the day together, and I managed to wangle him into staying over another night. Hurrah for that too, etc. It sort of dawned on me the other day that although going back to university means NO MORE PARENTS it also means no more Simon on a daily basis, and that is less good. But that is something to be emo about another time.
I managed by some miracle to get Simon out of bed at the same time I did on Saturday, and even had all my stuff packed, and spent a few hours on a train to Leeds, where I was met by the ever-fabulous
flickerswitch. I had a fabulous weekend with her, because she is, as mentioned, fabulous. She has a Real Grown Up House (such things are still faintly novel to me) and she made me Real Grown Up Food in the form of an absolutely delicious leek and potato soup. I felt thoroughly spoiled, but I did make her a blackberry and apple crumble in return. We watched Prehistoric Park and X-Factor and cried with laughter before cracking open the cider, and moved onto the wine whilst getting geared up to leave.
Ah, I forgot how odd nights on the town can be. I have now experienced my third student bar in the form of Leeds Student Union, before we moved onto something of a cheesy bar.
Now, for whatever crazy personal reasons, I have recently invested in a black mini-skirt. It is very, very short. I am also mad-crazy paranoid about my white legs, so I wore fishnets. Between that, and Liz being a bloke magnet, we essentially tried every card going. "Can I feel your legs?" "I'm engaged and she's going out with a man who is about eight foot tall and could stand on you." This did not work, and made matters worse, in fact, so we tried the 'we're lesbians!' game. Also failed, and made matters even worse. We did, however, get to dance in tandem with a man in a moose outfit. GOOD FUN.
(I should point out that by this point, we were both drinking blue drinks. Essentially, we were hammered.)
All in all, it was a fab night, though, completed by some truly nasty pizza. YAY. I was suffering a bit yesterday from a chronic hangover, though, but managed to get home at a sensible hour, comin gthe BSU to give in my money for camp.
Now, however, I am home and on my last day of work. It began rather badly, as my uniform was HIDDEN I TELL YOU. I found it - in my parents room, the hell? - at the same time I needed the leave the house. No shower or breakfast for me, hence the fact I'm still starving now. The food in the house is not looking especially appealing; all I have to chose from is a baked potato or, erm, a baked potato. Mayonnaise tastes iffy, so that spoils all the fun of a potato. I do have some rather spiffy pasta stuff in the freezer that I am now somewhat tempted to break into, because by God, I'm fed up of Slimming World food.
I apologise for this crap post in general. I am now going to go and shower so that I smell less offensive and then I am going to laze around and try not to think about food.

Boo for Primark. It is an EVIL PLACE WITH 97 STAIRS UP TO THE STAFF ROOM.
