With my new speedy internet connection, I come bearing an exciting music post, full of stuff that I like and no one else probably will. This is what I tend to listen to. A lot. And loudly.

William Shatner - Common People

Firstly, this song is fab at the best of times. However, this is William Shatner with a frankly unnecessary bit by Ben Folds muscling in on the act. It's got all the good bits of the original, plus random choirs and William Shatner possibly having never heard the original, and rather just been handing some words to read out. It always makes me happy.

Wolfmother - Woman

This is just gloriously wonderful. Some Australian kids smoked something interesting, pu ton their Dad's Led Zep collection, went "THIS IS FAB", picked up some instruments and went crazy. You cannot play this song anything except VERY LOUDLY whilst bellowing along.

The Dresden Dolls - Sing

I like the Dresden Dolls a lot. Some of my flist have already encountered them. Those that haven't, well, they're sort of what you get when you combine Caberet and punk. It's a strange sound, but every song has a story behind it. I could have pu tup a lot of songs here (notably Sex Changes or Girl Anachronism) but I've been listening to this one in particular, and I think it's one that everyone will like. (I can send a list of the stuff I have if you want me to send it on to you.)

Regina Spektor - $2.99 Blues

There's no song that really sums her up, but this one is fun to listen to and easy on the eardrums. My other favourites are a little more odd, and I'm trying to make this palatable. (Ditto, if you want more etc etc)

The Might Be Giants - Birdhouse In Your Soul

It's an old one, but it makes me happy every time that I hear it. "Not to put too fine a point on it, say I'm the only bee in your bonnet!"

Nina Simone - Ain't Got No (I Got Life)

Just... a happy song. From the Muller Lite adverts, incidentally.

Hope the, uh, two of you who said you wanted a look inside my head like at least some of these. Let me know if you download?

I have no idea if it's true, but I like to think that it is, given he's rarely, you know, in time with the original... either way, LOVE.

Music, yay! :) I like the MullerLite one. And Regina Spektor. And the others, I suspect, I will start to love once I've heard them a few times. William Shatner IS LOVE except that I could not hear him very well. Shall have to turn speakers up later.

The others are... well, it depends on your music taste, I suppose. AND GO SHATNER.
