(no subject)

Somewhat obviously, I am still in Cambridge and currently listening out gingerly for the tumble dryer. There's a distressing clattering noise every so often, and I suspect I've pulled my usual trick of leaving earrings and change in my jeans pockets. Hopefully, it's just the metal on my jeans (lots o' buttons) but I do hope I'm not exploding Simon's tumble dryer.

I really, really want private housing next year. I can't afford the uni prices other than Gatty and the Gulag (Albany and Fife), and Gatty is too popular to get back into and I can't live another year in the Gulag - Katie has discovered an extensive mould problem to the extent that it is not only attacking her bedclothes but attacking her shoes in the wardrobe through the back of the wardrobe. And what have Estates said? "Oh, sorry, there's nothing we can do."

Now, perhaps I'm being paranoid here, but if someone from DRA - the rich apartments just across from us and pay, erm, more than double than what we pay for things like underfloor heating and double beds - had the same problems, hell and earth would be moved for them, or alternatively they would be moved into nicer accommodation. For us? Nothing, we're not a sound economic investment.

Whereas here, well, there's a tumble dryer in the kitchen, and a nice little kitchen for that matter, and nice rooms. I have no idea if I'll get that privately, but I hope that I might do. There's generally a washing machine and tumble dryer, and dude, there's nothing nicer than making a cup of tea and knowing that's your washing gently drying.

Busy busy.

Yesterday I was taken out on a date. It was lovely, and made more so by imbibing a little too much wine and the fact that it was free. (Long story.) Tonight I am not being taken out on a date, but there will be curry, which makes any night better. Tomorrow I am off to Formal and by some miracle (seriously, I just forgot EVERYTHING I was going to bring) I brought a black blouse which means I will not be the only person not wearing black in the entire hall. Hurrah!

And now Simon is back, so I will depart.

THEY LIE they have to do something about that. it will affect her health! complain to the uni! you must have student services? mind you i tried to get in touch with our harrassment officer and no luck... but hey i'm sure it'll work out in the end 8) anyway we might be having a bonfire night at my house sometime after the 15th of december and you are coming. yes you are. shutup.

It will affect her health, what with her being down on accommodation services as severely asthmatic and all, but when I say they don't care about us I'm really not kidding. She's going to lodge a formal complaint, then take it higher up in the university, and then start casually dropping in phrases like 'local council' and 'Gosh this will affect your Houses With Multiple Occupants License, won't it?' and go from there.

Sucky.

Re: bonfire, depends on if I'm back from uni yet! I don't get a real Christmas holiday. :-(

And also what if it spreads ot other rooms, like, say, the kitchen? My mate Shell was in hospital for a few days at the end of last year due to a mouldy kitchen!
