Alas! The revision, she is not going as well as she should be. I sort of went mad yesterday and bought an absolutely fascinating book on diplomatic wives. (Shut up. I am growing strangely in love with this period of history. The pre-Victorian bit, anyway. And it cost £1.99. It would have been RUDE not to buy it.) It is eating my brain.

Argh.

In leiu of actually revising today, I ended up going into Dundee for, well, something to do. On the bright side, I ended up at Pizza Hut with Katie and eating too much food, which means I'm still pretty stuffed even now.

I also, um, drank a fair bit of wine last night. It is too nice, that's the problem. Other problem is waking up with a cracking great bruise on my ribs that's actually really painful. The hell? I was pretty much sober - cheerful, but sober - so I haven't got the memory loss thing. Confusing.

My current annoyance, however, is levelled at thetrainline.com. I'm trying to buy a ticke to get to Cambridge with. Well, I first tried about three hours ago, when it told me that my card number had been declined. This happens every so often, when I've been using it a lot - although I haven't used it for about a week now - but I've just tried three hours later, and it's still declining. I'm a bit alarmed. I've cleared out all my caches, cookies, etc, but it's still declining!

I worry when this sort of thing happens. I am, I realise, a stranger in a strange land. This means that if my card does have something wrong with it - and I can't think what, given that my student loan was just paid in, and the card doesn't expire until 2008 - then I'm completely fucked, because there isn't a bloody Natwest ANYWHERE around here.

Argh. I might nip across to the DRA function place and check my balance and see if my card is still working over there. I'm hoping it's just a problem on their end, and not mine. It's just the fact it's still messed up. Argh. Also I'd like the security of knowing EXACTLY when I'm travelling and having it all sorted.

And, of course, it's a wonderful distraction from revision. So that's something.

[eta: DRA cash machine says that not only does my card exist, it also has a significantly large amount of money in it due to my thrice-yearly paycheque from the government. So, my card hasn't been tapped and used for criminal purposes and all my money stolen. And thetrainline.com STILL isn't accepting the bastarding thing. ARGH!

Sod this. I'm going to curl with some decaf tea and my book about diplomatic wives. LALALALA.]
