I know that the NHS is very busy and doesn't have time to worry about pesky things like sore chests, fevers and whatnot.

I do, honest. I don't like going to the doctors. I feel guilty using up the resources.

Unfortunately, when one is in Cambridge and, er, unable to breathe properly because of a burning pain in the chest combined with a massive fever and mild hallucinations about monkeys as well as the usual 'sore limbs and skin and head and everywhere' I'm beginning to think it might be time to get some medical help. Erm. Every time I cough, it takes me a minute to breathe again properly and I can't take deep breaths.

Er. Should I possibly go mad and see about getting an appointment and hope the massive cocktail of painkillers I'm taking keeps me moving for that long?

Er. Help. Plzkthxbai. Bit rubbish at this.

I did, however, get flowers out of the deal from Simon. WIN. Between the choking.

[eta: I went. I had good fun when the taxi driver thought I was actively dying and kept on telling me not to panic and to take deep breaths. Oh dear. Apparently I have pleurosy, although if it gets worse during the night I have to go back in again tomorrow... ho hum. Antibiotics, yayzorz! Thanks everyone for sensible words of advice. I am a bit useless.]

I'll be concise here: see a doctor. Try to get one to come to you if possible.

Oh. Err, yay for flowers, and yes, I would think seeing a doctor would be quite a good idea!

Also, you have timed your illness to coincide with Cambridge again. Life is so unfair at you. *hugs*

oooh my sister had that. you are going to be coughing for aaages. it goes away though and at least you aren't asthematic (sp?) as well.

sorry that wasn't very helpful. however, i do feel that hallucinations about monkeys should have their own entry on that self-diagnosis thing on the NHS Direct website (that thing is dangerous!)
