I'm an English tutor for a 14 year old girl, and at the moment, we're studying Macbeth. It's her first experience of the play, and the poor girl's a bit bewildered.

Therefore, I'm asking if anyone has any Macbeth adaptations for TV or film? I have a Shakespeare Retold version, which is very good but doesn't stick as closely to the story as I need. You'd be really helping me - and her! - out...

Thanks a lot if anyone can help me!

(ARGH. Sorry. I meant to post this to uk_telly and not here. My mistake... although any help is good!)

I liked the Roman Polanski version, loads of blood, well shot and it's quite cheap at about a fiver on DVD. Not sure if it's 100% faithful but it certainly tells the story brilliantly.

Did Mel Gibson do a version too? Shame it's not Hamlet as I have a VHS of the Branagh version lying around...

Do you have the BBC one with Richard Armitage? Is that the one you're refering to? I've never done it I'm afraid, so I can't be much help :(

Yeah, I have that one; we're looking in depth at the witches, though, so it's not brilliant for what I want to teach. Argh!
