Yesterday was an odd day indeed, but a most fabulously good one and one that was thoroughly needed, with Tuesday being such a generally pants day, involving falling asleep for twenty minutes in a class of eleven people and waking up to discover them staring at me and the lecturer being deadly silent.

Buggar.

Anyway, all that aside, Wednesday was a Good Day. I was accomplished enough to go the library and get all the books I needed for divinity, came home, had a shower, went to the doctors, discovered that I've not actually put any weight on since seven months ago, came home, crawled back into bed for a few hours. To be honest, I would say that any day that involves nap time is a damn good day, but no! The day got better.

In Fresher's Week, we of DocSoc committee fame bribed a lot of people into joining. We bullied some of them, made them laugh and therefore got their names on the paper, but a lot of people were persuaded by the promise of LaserQuest. We sort of never got around to thatm, but yesterday, collective socks were pulled up and off we went!

Okay, only with nine of us and only eight of us being legitimate DocSoc members (and, er, six of us being on the committee) but nevertheless we went and Did Stuff. It was fabulously good fun and something that so help me lord, if I get the Presidency, then I will be running it once a month. We all managed to get the right bus, on time, got the connecting bus, also on time, traversed across the wilds of Dundee, and made it to the imaginatively titled 'Zapp Zone' at the Megabowl. We all kitted up, split into two teams, the Doctor Who soundtrack was put on the background, and off we went!

Needless to say, after two twenty minute games, I smelt not unlike a yak. I think my hair was sweating. All of me hurt, and I had weird cuts and bruises down one arm from where I skidded on the table. And yet? OH MY GOD SO MUCH FUN. I was notable rubbish at it, since I can't realy run or aim particularly well, and it was still totally worth it. Lots of laughing and screaming and cries of 'you bastard!' when people ran up on each other, all to the background of Doctor Who. We had a vague plan to have a Dalek and Cyberman theme, but it was entirely forgotten in a wave of Shooting The Crap Out Of Each Other. [livejournal.com profile] stupidore was particularly frightening good; I'm glad she was on my team!

A bit of staggering later, we ended up in Pizza Hut, where we took up too much space, laughed a lot, inhaled drinks, and learnt slightly too much about each other.

It was a wonderful, wonderful day. I'm so behind on work that it frightens me somewhat, and I sort of can't bind my legs properly now what with running up and down stairs quicker than I should have done so, but oh my. So much fun!

(Of course, this morning is much less so. Too much weight yesterday + a body freaking out as it is because I'm changed my diet every week in the last three weeks means that I'm trying to quell the rising nausea and rolling stomach pains. This is combined with being on toilets this morning and discovered that some absolute fucker had vomited in the sink and in the urinals. Combined with the stomach issues and the fact that cleaning up vomit makes me retch, I then proceeded to throw up too. This is probably slightly too much information, but JUST THINK HOW I FELT. Actually, I feel better for throwing up, but there we are.)

The AGM is on Saturday. Oh god. I need to write a speech. I will also be very annoyed if the football overruns and Doctor Who is cancelled; thus far, the plan is to have the AGM, get pissed in the Union, go and watch Gridlock, and then go for a meal. Wheeee!

And now I am going to go to my 11am lecture on gender. Finally modern history does a topic I care about this semester.

Apparently, JK modelled a lot of Hogwarts on St Andrews University buildings so actually, yes, I do go to Hogwarts.

(Or, to put it another way; divninty is one of many names for the very odd department that is the theology/church history/seminary bit of our university. Due to the fact this place was pretty much founded to serve for the purpose, the name's never changed; most universities don't have a department like it, or just call it 'theology' and shove the church history, etc, under culture or history departments. Divinity is the over-arching name for everything under it - School of Divinity - and then people specialise from there, or just nab bits and bobs, like I have for my church history module. Divinity sounds loads better, though; even if the teacher I have for it makes Trelawney sound good.)

laserquest sounds great, yay you for doing things!
also, anyone who can't control their stomach enough to puke in the toilet deserves to die. i mean, FFS, come on, some of us have IBS and manage not to be bastards about it.
