Apr. 27th, 2007 07:15 pmToday has been, after the madness of yesterday, A Good Day. I decided that dressing as a pirate for divinity was a bad plan. I did, however, have my silent protest by, er, not going to my lecture or my tutorial BECAUSE I DO NOT CARE LALALALALALA.
Instead, I edited my essays and serenely handed them all in. I then practically skipped home, crawled into bed, had a Naptime Friday happy in the knowledge that I should be learning about God and I wasn't, and woke up in time to have a leisurely lunch sat in the beautiful sunshine, before happily skipping to my medieval tutorial and talking rubbish for an hour.
Then I found out that I've gotten in my first choice for all my modules. All! I rule!
Semester One will consist of Samuel Pepys And His World - RESTORATION ENGLAND. THE RESTORATION. THAT THING WITH MY HISTORICAL CRUSH CHARLES II. And ohohoh I love British history I do I do I do and this si slap bang in My Period and oh yay!
I will also get The Medieval Ages and the Movies. This is an incedibly competetive course, and
linwesurion assured me it was very popular, etc, etc, and that it's also bloody amazing. Robert Bartlett, The Greatest Lecturer To Hit The Medeival Period! Watching films! EEEHEEEE!
Second Semester is Henry VIII, which I'm taking out of a morbid attraction to the fat git. I don't have quite the same OMFG SQUEE feeling about it, but it's still a Very Good Thing. I'm also doing a Scottish History course -
shoe__gal should be proud - on Edward I and his attempted takeover of all of the British Isles.
So again, I trundled home, so happy I could sing, because the sun is shining, because my essays are out of the way, because I like such random historical things that no one else took my place in the classes I wanted. I talked - really, properly talked - to people I don't often talk to, which is rare.
Tonight I'm going to see The Lives of Others with Sashsa and
shuffle_off, and then there may be some drinking. Tomorrow I am not starting on my divinity essay. Instead, I will do my tutorial reading, and I will clean the house, and I will enjoy getting these things out of the way. I'm sure that I'll go back to being crazy and miserable in a couple of days, but for now, I'm going to enjoy that feeling.
