hathycol: (the end is nigh [lvlwing])

I hav an exam on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Due to the fact that my little brain can only do so much in one day, essentially I need to have finished primary learning (i.e. writing notes and reading Important Texts for future memory jogging) by Tuesday afternoon, so I can spend all the time after that planning out ideas for exam questions and re-reading my notes frantically so I have learnt a few key dates and quotes.

So, you know, I should be learning and reading and stuff. Instead, today I have mostly watched Farscape and eaten myself to death.

Yeah. This is me failing at life, let alone this semester.

On the bright side, Eurovision was possibly the best night I've had in fucking ages. I was actually howling with laughter at some points, as a group of mostly strangers all heckled, booed and let the traditional once-yearly xenophobia out to play. I wanted the Ukraine or possibly France to win, alas to no avail. Serbia my arse. I did, however, cheer Malta along nicely when they gave us twelve points. FOR ONCE BLOCK VOTING WORKS FOR THE UK.

I have only been awae for about twelve hours. Either way, I think I'm going to bed, because I need to ration my Farscape; I can only find the first two seasons online, alas.

Oh, god, I can't wait for it to be this time next week. Except then I will be waiting for my death sentence time to go home. I have a feeling that I have yet another summer of being my mother's emotional crutch is ahead of me, judging by our last phone conversation. OH YAY.

(Actually, speaking of home; for those that live in my home town, Megan has a job in the Acropolis. I howled with laughter about this, and trust me, I will find out her hours and then ALL OF YOU MUST GO AND HARASS HER. Whilst I'm pleased she got a job - dude, I was working within a month of turning sixteen, she's nearly seventeen and this is her first job - I also think the fact that my princess-esque sister is working in the local greasy chip shop is the funniest thing in the whole world EVER.)

France were robbed. Boo.

Eating yourself to death is the fun part of revision. I have No Guilt about the number of boxes of Cadbury's fingers I worked my way through, noes.

France were so unexpectedly good that I was actually crying with laughter at one point. POOR SHOW EUROPE.

I think I am going to turn into roughly the shape of a football by the end of these exams. I've run out of fruit, so there's nothing left but the vending machine. Oh dear.

Oh goodness, I know. I have an exam tomorrow and it still doesn't quite seem real.

But oh, Eurovision. I really hoped the Ukraine was going to win. *sigh*

Good luck revising. :)

Good luck to you, too!

Ukraine were SO GOOD. *shakes fist at Serbia* It's nothing to do with musical talent and ability or songwriting! It's about DANCING AROUND LIKE AN IDIOT FOR THREE MINUTES!

Have discovered that it's not specifically gluten; it's just wheat. So, you know, this doesn't make life much better, but I feel it's not so drastic anymore...

CAKE FOR THE WIN!

You see, we live in a fairly sizeable town with quite a lot of establishments and fabulous public transport links to all the surrounding supermarkets and also the large towns and cities nearby. You do voluntary work, went to college, things like that?

Megan? Probably leaving college this summer because I will EAT MY HAT if she passes her AS-Levels (it might have helped if she'd ever done any of the work), refuses to do voluntary work ("Megan, it might help your CV if you did some shop work at Cancer Research..." "Urgh, no! I don't want to work for free! I don't care about people with cancer!") because she is a selfish cow and also basically robs my parents blind. The amount she demands for clothes is a little bit frightening.

The chippy's been advertising for months and months; I heartily suspect that Dad may have picked her up and physically pushed her inside just to get her a job. Seriously, El Parento were about to put me down the bloody coal mines when I turned 16 (well, the modern day coal mines of a supermarket) so I'm amazed she put up with the pressure for this long.

Seriously, I really am the better sister. When I was her age, I was going to college, doing voluntary work in Guides, taking part in a re-enactment society and doing loads of extra-curicullar stuff as well as working. Admittingly, I only did eight hours or so a week, but that is SO NOT THE POINT.

(Unfortunately, she's drop-dead gorgeous, can sing, can draw and has a Trendy Fashion Sense, is willing to give up sleep in order to get up and put on make-up and straighten her hair, can get into clubs at the age of sixteen, that sort of thing. All in all, I have a depressing feeling that I know which one of us is more valued by society.

Oh my goodness, I do apologise. I have some fairly large issues with my sister but she has been the bane of my life for seventeen years and I tend to get a bit ranty and self-rightous. Ahem. I'll stop now.)

Please, please please go and order a kebab off her and watch her freak out at the doner meat. Seriously, I will personally reimburse you the cost!

Meeting up would definitely be good. *nods*
