Ironically, as I started typing this, the radio was playing 'Hard Day's Night' by The Beatles. Now it's playing that 'Little Less Conversation' re-mix by Elvis. Appropriate for this post, I feel.

First things first - let's be shallow. Within the first, perhaps, two minutes, I clasped my hands together in earnest prayer, looked to heaven, and said 'Lord, in Thy endless bounty, Thou hast granted me 42 minutes of David Tennant and Freema Agyema running around looking hot and sweatyand possibly shedding layers of clothes.' Then I felt a bit cheated because at no point did the Doctor shed clothes and did indeed put a layer of them on.

Still, you know, I'm not to look a gift horse in the mouth and all that.

I enjoyed it, I really did. Watched it in the happy haze of having my exams over and being surrounded by the DocSoc people - usual heckling warnings apply - and just really enjoyed the episode.

I'm not sure I was entirely convinced by the bad guy - 'BURN WITH ME!' was a bit creepy but not too effective - but I liked the concept of a living sun. More convincing would have been, perhaps, something that lived within the sun itself, but hey, what's a Doctor Who episode with a moral For The Kids? and this weeks was The Evil of Taking Things From The World. Plot-wise, I was quite happy with 'they are falling into the sun' with the side-plot of Mr Saxon. This is just getting more and more intense. More amusingly, I am glad to see that other people are beginning to put up 'Vote Saxon' posters in their house windows in my house complex. YAY FOR STUDENTS.

It has been decided that the Doctor is like one of those kids that always kills or loses the gerbil. I wouldn't let him have a hamster, let alone keeping an eye on a fairly fragle human in different times and spaces.

Oh, Doctor. I can't remember who said that was gurning equal only to Jon Pertwee, but it was so true. There was some really good moments there - that he's scared not of death, but of becoming something else, something out of his control, will this link into next week? - and the desperate clinging onto Martha, but, well oh dear. I'm all for seeing David Tennant writhing on the floor, but not quite that much.

I liked Jackie better than I like Francine, but I like Martha better than I liked Rose. This is... a bizare combination, I realise.

Liked the question settings for the security. You have to love the fact that both Elvis and The Beatles are still known, however vaguely.

Oh, the hug at the end, and the irrational bit of emo!

Mostly, though, I'm just looking forward to next week. This is was a good episode, and I enjoyed it, but it just passed the time a bit, I think.

After that, we watched 'Any Dream Will Do' and 'Casualty' almost crying with laughter at some points, because it was just Richie, Katie and me, all cackling because our exams were over and we were free. And because that was the last time we could do that until September. You have no idea how much I don't want to be back in Ormskirk, not just yet, not when I won't even have any friends back yet.

Enough of that. If the clouds clear up a tiny bit - just a tiny, tiny bit, come on, it was lovely yesterday when it wasn't blowing a gale! - then I'm off to the beach today. JUST BECAUSE I CAN. Wheeee!
